  • I know that feeling... not spending more money!

I find that I make double as the greek yogurt is cheaper at 500g rather then 200g, and you get 2/3 chillies in a pack... that way I use 1 1/2 chicken breast leftover from Sunday roast... and you get 8 portions!!

makes it more MsE as you have less waste :D

Haha I like your thinking!! Might give it a go like that and just keep my fingers crossed that I like it, although I cant imagine why I wouldnt. I have cooked chicken in the freezer - wonder if I could use that instead......................

  • Yes you could. I've done that before! Just can't freeze leftover (well you shouldn't anyway)

Adapted from a jamie oliver recipe. Whenever I have to make a quick meal.

Boil a 500g pack of tiny pasta shells with a good handful of frozen peas, Meanwhile fry 4 or 5 slices of finely chopped bacon (I usally use scissors to chop) empty bacon on to a piece of kitchen roll to get rid of excess fat. Chop about a 1/3 of a cucumber into bite size pieces and chop a half a pack of sainsburys own brand chicken tikka (more if you like). Put all the ingredients in a bowl and give it a good mix, add cheese or mayo or both

    xx

I was wondering what the quickest meal you cook is - including all the prepping (chopping stuff, opening tins)??

    Definitely an omelette.

Tuna pasta sweetcorn is pretty quick too.

    Bacon egg and beans

microwaved Jacket spud with beans and cheese

For something "cooked", then mixed bean goulash is fast - tin each of kidney beans, baked beans, haricot beans (any really) tin tomatoes, paprika, maybe a softened onion and garlic, heat through add some chilli if you like it with a kick and tom puree for colour. Swirl in some plain yogurt, creme fraich or soured cream serve with bread (naan, pitta, crusty roll)
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Tortellini (2 minutes max once the water is boiling) then drained & tossed with butter & freshly chopped herbs.

Cous cous - 2 mins to boil the water, 10 mins for the cous cous which is enough time to chop up veg, lightly cook the onion and spices and open the tuna.

Scrambled eggs and beans and maybe some toast, my 5 minute tea when we get in late after kids activities!
