It is quick and easy, and as a guide it is a good little tool.

I do wonder though if income should be one of the variables?

I got 'excellent', but I doubt that anyone would give me a loan or credit card these days as since I got my current cards I became ill and unable to work, so have little income.

    Great tool.

One question about the methodology behind the scoring. I get an "excellent" score if I answer accurately. As it happens, I haven't applied for any new credit accounts in the past six months. However, if I change that answer to "1-3" I get downgraded to "good".

Of course a lot of applications close together affects your credit score, but would your credit score really be affected to this extent if you've applied for just one credit product in the past six months?

[edit] I've now checked my credit history and I do have one application for a "credit account" in the past six months, which is the BT landline for my new flat. I can't believe that applying for a bog-standard landline service will affect my credit score... will it?

Very useful (guidance) tool. I think it would help if you could go and amend individual questions rather than having to start from scratch each time.

    Works fine here though.
