New MSE Credit Checker Tool - Please help us test if you have 5 mins

Hey folks,

We've just built a tool to help people estimate their credit score, using data from Experian. We particularly like how it lets you play about with different answers to typical questions asked and see how this affects your credit score.

It will be going live in an article soon but we'd love for some of you guys to test it out for us - try and break it! We are using some new technology here so want to make sure it is as robust as it can be before launching this to all our users.

Small thing....Where it gives results, there is no start (<) to the </div> closing function...

Comes out as this:
Avoid applying for new products unless really necessary and space out applications to help improve your profile./div>

Just needs the /div> changing to </div>



Other than this, very very good and will be useful to many!

only problem I see is when you cick 'start again' it comes up with an error saying please answer question before continuing.

Hi worked ok for me except at the end when i clicked start again it came up ith an error messge saying please complete question when i clicked the close on the error box it started again just fine

How many credit or store cards do you actually have – whether you use them or not?

I have 3.

The only possible answers are

0
1-2
More than 3

Otherwise its fab!

yet read the manage and improve your credit section to start to rehabilitate it.

What does that mean? and why not state at the outset/end which factor is the biggest in determining your credit score.. It also does not ask if you are a house owner or tenant, in employment or any money coming in?

No options to answer certain questions correctly in the drop down menus:

66 year old with 3 credit/store cards and 2 other credit accounts

It did not work for me - it gave me a good score, but the last Credit Card (Virgin) I applied for turned me down.:mad: And last month Nationwide would not let me open a normal bank accout with them.:mad: :mad:
