No, sub prime, ergo people who refuse/cant pay back debt, they are high risk, the family with a hefty mortgage and 30 odd credit cards, they should be scored lower for over commitment, somebody who manges their credit well and is not any of the latter should be given a fair chance, I personally get knocked back for anything and everything because they say I have applied for too much in a short space of time, so what? I am allowed to try and get a better deal, I do not have any adverse credit but hey what the hell, give it to all the folk who are in over their heads and can't afford a loaf of bread!

You are entitiled to look for a better deal but maybe some of the card providers don't want to give a card to someone who is unlikely to use it as they have so many other cards and are constantly looking for a better deal?

Agreed Callum, however I only have three sub prime cards and use two out of the three, all I want is a low rate card with a good limit and that is it.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • One problem I have come across - I am 20, apparently I cant use the tool as you either have to be 'less than 20' or '21-25'
Reclaiming for family and friends. Won 4/13 so far

I don't have any credit cards so neither pay in full or part of the balance. The best option for me to chose is that I pay in full as far as I'm concerned but perhaps it would give a better result if there was an NA option. Also, I wasn't sure if the club book catalogue should have been included in this as it is a form of credit although not a store card or credit card. A little bit of clarification on whether to include these would be great.

Otherwise, I'm pleased with my result.
  • It seemed to work well for me and gave the expected result. I was given a good rating and then ran through the questions again to discover I only need one more birthday to get an excellent rate all other factors staying the same. Guess being under 25 means I'm more likely to be daft with money?!
  • Tested my OH Credit. Result fitted our experience mostly get accepted for credit but odd times refused. His rating on the test came up as good.

Well it didn't give the result I expected at all, but I have to bear in mind that my useage of Credit Cards is not the normal one.

As others have said, there is no inputs for income, value of assets, overall liquidity etc.

Unfortunately, I suspect that if all the factors that the Card Companies take into account were used, then the forumla would become far to complicated.
