Thankyou Ellidee, I've been thinking some more about this and yes I am still gonna go for it, but rather than try to get down to 10 stone over the summer I'm going to aim for 10.5 stone, then work on the other 1/2 stone in the autumn term. 10.5 is what I got down to last year so would be happy to get there again, if I get further then great but I dont wanna stress over it in the holidaysMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Had a lovely walk today at school
I've got 2 mystery shops tomorrow after work which will get me £20 and the car is going in for its service and m.o.t. tomorrow, so fingers crossed it wont be too bad, but tbh it could be dreadful as they said last year the exhaust needed replacing soon

Well the car is poorly .... it needed 2 new front tyres and a whole new exhaust
In total it cost just under £500   They didnt get it finished tonight either so we have to walk to school tomorrow and collect it after school  It also meant I had to cancel the 2 mystery shops for tonight as I couldn't get there, so £20 lost there too  Hey ho, life goes on
Other than that it has been a nsd todayMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Your post last night prompted me to look up my MOT certificate, only to be horrified to see that the MOT ran out 3 weeks ago
We got it done today - but brakes needed doing, so £180 gone just like that. Not as bad as yours, but still money that could have been used somewhere else!
So....thank you for mentioning your MOT last night - you have saved me risking getting caught with no MOT and therefore invalid insurance :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Pleased to have helped Hypno
Its scary how much running a car costs, but where I live I have no option, the bus only goes once an hour and unless you want to go to the main town you've had it, theres no way I could get to mum and dads without a car, and with dad being as he is now that just isn't an option
I do put money away each month to go towards car costs and currently I have £425 in there, so that will now be wiped out and I need to find another £70  Back to square one for that account then.Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

We are much the same - we only have one car between us (although OH does have a bike) but with running children and visiting students about, it is very much a necessity, without even thinking about the ski stuff that we do!
I try and save £50 a month towards the car running costs, but OH bike needed work doing to get it through its MOT last month which wiped out what little I had saved......bah!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
