Re DS, it may not have been what you wanted to hear, but at least once you know what you are faced with, you can deal with it properly rather than doing lots of "maybe-things" if that makes sense. Also, as and when you get a proper diagnosis, you can start to get the extra help that is needed from time to time.

Also, you have the knowledge that it is not just a "naughty child" who won't do as they are told, or who plays up all the time - there is a reason for his actions. There will be days when that knowledge will be invaluable to you - those days when you otherwise would have doubted your own abilities as a parent (you know, the days when you are tired, DS is playing up, and some smartalec mum in the playground makes comment on how some children don't know how to behave.......).

Yesterday at the hospital the doctor said she thinks ds is probably dyspraxic and possibly adhd
    1st dont be embarrassed,
if this is the problem then you can now make plans to help him,,,,
a lad on my team was adhd ,,on meds for two years....11 to 13
but a lovely boy !! and would go through a brick wall if i asked him to !!!!
    (mutual respect)
yes at times it aws hard for his single mum and for me,,,had to join in the blackmail and threats sometimes to get him to work at school....
(his mum would say to him ,,,eg,,,not working hard at school ,,,,will have a word with shaun and you be a sub this wkend if i let you go) dident like it but it did help him...
2nd point and major one here
is the drs use of the word possibly!!!!!
wait and see what happens as certinually in irl they do tend to apply dyspraxic and adhd to every case at the biggining!!

    3rd even more major point
    enjoy your weekend away!!
    chill, relax.get drunk(not to drunk)
    enjoy yourself!!
WAS DEBT FREE & STILL BAAARRRRRKING

    Hi Benben,
As I have mentioned before my DS2, youngest of three,(now age 22:eek:) is Dyspraxic and ADHD. We had loads of help and there are a zillion coping strategies you can put into place that will help him (and eventually they will sink in;)) . If there's anything you need to know please pm me. Been there, done it (still doing it:D) and worn the t-shirt as they say !!.

Aww, thankyou all for your messages :T :T I have just got back from Brighton and it was lovely ... we spent yesterday meandering through the lanes while chatting and then we went and sat on the beach for a couple of hours, then we had dinner and hit the town ... and rolled in at 3.30am, very very drunk, it was fabulous!! :D:D Spent more than I should have, but hey ho, tis only money ;)

Ds will be home in a couple of hours so I'm going to have a catch up on here for a bit then try and get the place looking semi-reasonable :o

I was having a good think about stuff I need to get done in the car earlier and have managed to come up with a mammoth list   Its for me to work through gradually, but its all stuff that needs doing so I shouldn't let it drag on too long really.
    • Banking
    • Read new bank account info (part of mortgage deal)
    • Clean guinea pigs
    • Ironing
    • Tax credits form
    • Complete tax return
    • Cancel mobile insurance
    • Call Tesco re clubcard vouchers
    • Book ds birthday party
    • Ds homework
    • Laminate ds certificates
    • Meal plan
    • Clear rubbish out of garage
    • Get car radio fixed
    • Aunts birthday card / present
    • Log matched betting stuff better
    • Order a voucher from survey site
The banking is the major one, since I sorted the new mortgage deal I have really let the money-tracking stuff slip, I dont know why really, but I must get on top of it again :o:o

I have done a tesco order which is arriving tomorrow morning, I throw away so much food its ridiculous, so I must get the meal plan thing sorted this week. Also I need to schedule in going to the gym again as I haven't been for ages :o

We've just had our dinner and I made a batch of rock cakes instead of going over to the shop and buying choccy :T :T

    Ooooooh rock cakes....yummy!
Big list yes, but I'm sure you'll whizz through it in no time! My list doesn't seem to have gone done a huge amount...BUT I did do loads of ironing so the cleaning will have to be tomorrow's job:o DD2 and I are going to have fun in the garden too - making up our tubs of flowers and planting seeds:D And I have the rubbish job of strimming and cutting the grass....I HATE it, the one I wish I had a man:rotfl::rotfl:

I've spent an hour or so going through the banking stuff and basically its really really confusing :o:o but I need to make the overpayment for the mortgage and then try and figure out what (if anything) is left and live on that for the month. I will make the overpayment in about 10 days so I want to try and get a bit more matched betting sorted before then as my float will be back to zero.

I'll be really glad once its all sorted and I can get myself straight again :D
