Hypno's recession busting debt diary.....

Hyp,
I, too, have inherited documents like death certificates, wills etc from my parents etc. I have out mine in a suitcase, with old photos etc up in the loft. That way, they're still accessible if needed, but not clutterng the 'living space' of the house.
My mum has been gone 12 years, and I've only just this weekend got round to sorting a lot of the stuff from the garage. You have to do these things when it's right for you.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Thanks......I think I will find an appropriate box that can keep stuff like that safe and out of the way until such time as I decide properly what to do with it. There is not much that falls into this category - most of it has a fairly definite "keep it" or "bin it" feeling.......but some falls in between and I don't know if it deserves the same ruthlessness that my old t-shirts are getting

hi gillypen!!! Nice to see you!
taka - welcome back!!! I am only aware of a couple of name changes, but there may well be more!
At least you are still debt free - despite your little overspend.......now, keep on posting from time to time, just so we can keep an eye on you
I have nearly finished Dad's box of papers - most has gone for shredding or recycling, but there were a few "gems" that needed to be kept and a few strange things - such as my Mum and Dad's divorce papers.......any ideas what I am supposed to do with thoseI don't feel as though I should throw them away, but then again, I don't know that I want to keep them. I guess I need a proper storage box for bits like that so they can go in the loft until such time I make a decision.
Hopefully I will finish the box off tonight and then I can walk through the landing without risking a broken leg
You could give them to the public records office...
You never know, they might come in useful for future generations when writing about the sociological relationships with humans...

Klingons and Vulcans  Now you're just being silly
Have seen my client so can now sit and watch telly for a bit before collapsing - tomorrow is lots of running around - dentist, 3 mystery shops, karate, as well as trying to do the jobs from today that I didn't get round to doing!!

In part yes! As always!
But seriously, if the divorce papers feel weird in your possession or you want to get rid of them, the public records people are sufficient geeks to scan it in and keep them!
Your attempt to be organised is amazing and show tremendous focus! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

Well done on the Egg card :beer::beer:
Re the divorce papers.... if it was me I'd throw them away. You didn't know you had them, and they can only have negative energy attached, so what's the point in keeping them to have a box somewhere that you don't really want to look in?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Oh and I forgot to ask - what hair colouring do you use? I'm sure you will have researched it thoroughly and know the best MSE method! (Or perhaps I should ask weezl)Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
