  • Thats more than a start... 2 car fulls = loads of freed up space :T

I love decluttering it frees my mind more than it frees my house if that makes sense.

Oh, and the odd sock bag made it to the tip.........

Have just started sorting out the "first aid cupboard"....it was a first aid "box" but then it overflowed.......and took up the whole cupboard.......most of it is out of date long since, so would be no good as anything other than a placebo :o

Right, now off to do the mystery shop and go to Lidl.....back to the de-cluttering when I get back!

Well done Hypno! I plan to "blitz" as soon as Dr Dragon is back at work (dust allergy poor love!), in the mean time bits are getting done (hmm job for tomorrow could be filing and finding the coffee table from underneath the paperwork!)

I think de- cluttering is totally theraputic.

I keep wondering if I could denote my teenager to the charity shop

I estimate 96% of all remaining clutter is hers too :D

Mystery shop is done, but not yet entered. Went to lidl and did the shopping but was v disappointed as I spent my budgeted £50 but got less than I did from Tesco last week......won't bother again!

A car load has been dropped off at the charity shop, and the utility room is well on its way to being decluttered........

The house looks a complete mess though.......but on the basis that it was always likely to look worse before it looks better, I suppose I can cope with that!

I'm in total agreement with every therapeutic comment that's been made about clearing out your stuff. I bought two books from a charity shop at the end of last term (De-junk Your Life and The Life laundry) and have spent nearly every day de-junking an area of our tiny 2 bed terrace.

I started tackling little areas at first (letter rack, bookcase etc.) then moved on a bit. Today it's the bedroom chest of drawers. I've become ruthless about it, more so every time I see a new piece of the floor. There's something even more brilliant about looking at an item and thinking "Hmm, I'd quite like to keep this" and then saying "Naaah" and sticking it in a charity shop bag. :A

I have found however, that OH is quite [STRIKE]frightened[/STRIKE] wary of the whole experience and keeps poking about in the charity bags when he gets in from work, despite the fact I've assured him that I wouldn't dream of throwing anything of his out without his express permission. I just hope he never rummages down to the bottom of the bags...:rotfl:

So far I've [STRIKE]bullied[/STRIKE] legitimately taken 4 old books out of his mits:T

Still some way to go though!

Hope you feel fab after all your de-junking Hypno

Hmm I have the feeling they will not take her! But you could try the "unless this is tidied up it all gets bin bagged and down to the tip/charity shop" bit - Mum did it with my sister once (dumped everything in the shed!)
