What beautiful kitties, the ginger one looks just like Charlie did when we got him.
I would love another cat, but I don't think that our boy Aston would be too impressed.

I think boys are more accepting of new kittens than girls, although obviously there will be exceptions to that. I have two girls, and they're no spring chickens at 16 & 17 year old, but I know for a fact that there's no way on this earth they would accept any newcomers to the family.

The younger one in particular terrorises any poor kitty that dares step foot in my garden, unless of course it happens to be a handsome young man then she flirts terribly with him before chasing him off :rotfl:

They are so sweet :D . I know my old girl Katy she is 18 would not like any kittens in the house, she does not like any cat whatever age! which ventures into our garden.

    aww how cute!

Love the pic of the older one with the littley!

Our two kittens have been spayed and neutered this week and thermo chipped!

They had their first jabs at 2 months ... then their second set a few weeks later ... they have been spayed and neutered at 6 months and thermo chipped at the same time as it can hurt a bit so was better when they were under the anaesthetic!

A thermo chip would be an excellent idea in case they wonder they can track them back to you :) I'd be devastated if we lost our two! Also a bonus as they won't need a thermometer up their bottom anymore as they can scan the chips at the vets to get their temperature reading!

Our little boy had diarrhoea for nearly 3 months - he was fine with it .. runnign round, energetic and exciteable ... the vets tried everything to clear it up with diet ... pro biotics .. starvation etc ... and then finally gave him some antibiotics which cleared it up - so he must have had a bacteria in his tummy apparently!

I'd let your kittens have access to water as well as kitten milk tho because ours went off the milk as they got older and onto water ... ours currently eat the whiskas kitten loaf ... some James Wellbeloved kitten biscuits and water ... and have little treats like crabsticks and beef once in a while :)

Our vet advised us against putting them onto just a dry diet at an early age as their tummies are too young to cope with it and it swells in their stomach easier compared to adult cats ... so a wet and dry food diet is what they'll have ... they choose what they want then!

If you want some kitten sized safety collars try www.kittycatboutique.co.uk... we've just bought our two one each for when they go outside ... they have them on at the mo without bell and tags to get used to them :) and the quick release safety catch really does work! :)

I was a bit nervous about how my boy would react which is why we went for girls. I know he would not accept another male in the house.

I caught Jaffa licking Rosies' head earlier so I'm think he is accepting them :j

They have one bowl of water and one of milk as Tallulah seems to like water better.

Im poaching them a bit of white fish as a treat. I think Rosie is finding it harder to eat the Whiskas, shes not eaten much today so hopefully the mashed up fish will be ok for her.

And they ventured outside this afternoon for the first time. I do have an enclosed garden and I went out with them. They were quiet excited, bless them.

    Hiya,

Your kittens look lovely, I sooo want one but I already have two and I think my landlord would probably throw a fit if I got another one!

About the milk, I know its whiskas kitten milk but I read somewhere that even that is bad for cats, they can't tolerate the lactose in it so it might be that causing the upset tummy. But then again the lactose has probably been taken out but I always think that water is best for any animal. I know my two never drank milk, not even when they were kittens it was always water. In fact one of mine will only drink from the loo which is why we have to keep it flushed all the time. And when I did give them cat milk they just looked at me as if to say "what on earth is this?!"

With two you will definately have your hands full! But it will be worth it, I love watching my two career about the house! Just blue tack any valuables down!! :rotfl:

Hi They are gorgeous (and your Tom is a gorgeous handsome chap) but the thought of having two furry marine commandos (aka kittens) running round my house sends shivers down my spine. I have a beloved oldie and when his time comes for Rainbow Bridge I will want another adult cat (or two).
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Eeekk - I've not told my landlord but I know he wont mind, thats if he even notices. He asked me last week if I had a cat, I've had him living here 6 years now!

Tallulah, the one with slightly dodgy tummy drinks more water than milk, but her tummy seems to of settled a bit today.

I had 2 other cats and they both drank from toilets too, or ponds and puddles etc, anywhere but their bowl.

I think I have a problem though, I'm pretty sure Rosie is a boy lol!! I thought that anyway as you dont get many Ginger girls and after much comparing between her and Tallulah, I'm 90% certain. So Rosie looks like [strike]she[/strike] he will become Bugsy.

I wanted an old rescue cat. But these kittens were from a friend of a friend who has so many cats and dogs that she needed to find new homes so I couldnt say no.

I've had 3 cats that have been rescued in some way or another and loved them all dearly so would love to give an older cat a chance of having a lovely last few years.

Yeah I read that somewhere, ginger cats are nearly always boys and tortiseshell cats are usually girls, you do get tortie males but they tend to be infertile. And definately, every ginger cat that I or my Mum has ever had has been male.

My Mum had a cat once that was a tabby and he was a little bit of both - no joke! He went to the vet to get the snip but had to be spayed too!
