Flavours For Natural Yoghurt

How about fresh fruit or stewed fruit? You can get frozen summer berries, cook them for a few minutes, then add to yogurt when cooled.TL0

.... used to make instant icecream for the children with frozen berries (raspberries, small strawberries, blackcurrant etc ) and plain yoghurt.
Put both into 'magimix' and whizz........ 'ice cream appears before your very eyes' !!
Use instantly of course.0 -
use low sugar jam, soften it slightly in micro to make it easier to stir in0

Our breakfast every morning is oats, tinned mandarins and HM yoghurt plus a glass of orange juice. It is delicious. I think it would be nice to stir in some oats and fruit (whatever is allowed for a diabetic). I used to like those oaty type yoghurts you can buy. I should think you could stir in chopped nuts and seeds etc. too.
I absolutely adore stirring in some honey, but I think this would be out of the question for a diabetic.Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Hi ariba,
We have an older thread on flavouring natural yoghurt that might give you more ideas so I've merged your thread with it as it helps to keep all the suggestions together.

I've just made some yoghurt in a flask for the first time in ages, on account of the fact that we're getting through so much of the stuff lately, and was looking around for some flavouring ideas to jazz it up. I found the following...
http://www.dvo.com/newsletter/monthly/2003/june/0603tabletalk3.html
Some of the ideas are plain weird (unless that's just me, and everyone else thinks carrot or salad flavour yoghurt is normal!) but there are a few nice-looking ones and a lot of inspiration. If anyone has any more ideas for yoghurt flavourings, I'm all ears.
There are also lots of other recipes on the site too. I haven't had too much time to look round it as little one is off school sick today, but the one for microwave fudge caught my eye. Could be useful for a quick/cheap pressie.Eek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
Hello everyone
A while ago I purchased a lakeland yoghurt maker and I am pleased with the standard of yoghurt I make from it. Getting a bit bored of the same natural flavour though.
I know I can flavour it by blending fruit to it, or adding honey, but does anyone else have any other low-cost ideas for yoghurt flavours?
I prefer not to use flavour sachets such as easy-yo.
Thanks

Couldn't you do something like HM marmalades or jams like fruit corners?
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Hi blackbelle,
There's an earlier thread with some ideas that should help so I've added your post to it to keep the suggestions together.
