Hi, I like Muller Light yogurts but being nearly 40p each they aren't very old style! I was wondering if I could flavour natural yoghurt and how it would taste?
One flavouring I can think of is Vanilla, another would be to puree some fruit and add that. Dose anyone have anymore ideas?
Thanks, Dawn

Pureed apple and ginger is a super combination. If you want the unhealthy version you can add it to whipped cream instead for a nice dessert. You need to add a little sugar to the apple.0

I was the queen of natural yoghurt when my daughter was a baby as I didn't like the amount of sugar in Petit Filous etc (now of course she is a sucker for 'character' yoghurts and doesn't like my homemade ones anymore!). firstly you can make your own yoghurt in a flask with just a small pot of natural yoghurt to start with and then make with fresh milk. I don't have a recipe to hand but I bet there is one on here.
Flavours I tried:
runny honey stirred in
rehydrated dried apricots, then boiled to cook and puree, sieve to remove rough skins - delicious
pureed mango
dried fruit compote - rehydrate dried fruit then puree and sieve - looks awful (sludgy brown) but tastes delicious
apples
banana
pear
strawberry
blackberry
raspberry
prunes - again looks awful, but tastes yummy
all fruit can either be chopped fresh, or cooked then pureed - I combined lots of flavours.
Again using the baby food principal, you could make up batches, freeze them in ice cube trays and defrost flavours as you wish in individual cubes.0 -
Vanilla, honey, chopped fruit all make good flavourings and breakfast cereals and musli make nice cruncy stir in flavours. If I'm in a rush and need to cheat I stir in a few spoons of milkshake powder.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

How about bought apple sauce or crumbled flapjacks or semi dried prunes chopped and covered with the strained yogurt and left for 30 minutes0
