ebay seller increasing P&P

Without sounding harsh you saying the listing was not clear.
So if I was in your shoes I would of emailed the seller any questions before bidding.
The listing clearly said it was UK based, it was only after the purchase that an automated email came saying it could come from Australia, Canada, France or USA.
In this email it also stated clearly that we would only recieve the discs, unless we had chosen 'other courier' if they had said that in the listing, I would have understood.
Thats now by the by, as I paid the extra, now I have three games that dont work, and likely to be still out of pocket at the end.
Im dealing with a company whos getting more neg feedbacks by the day, for very similar reasons. Its just a shame as ebay can be a great place, that its spoilt by a few.0 -
Personally I would open up a PayPal SNAD (significantly not as described) dispute. If the discs don't work and the seller isn't taking care of it, you have every right to do so.
And then email the seller and ask if they would like to refund you in full (for both payments), or would they prefer you to report them to Ebay for location abuse? Take a pic of the postal packaging showing they came from Canada and not the UK.
I personally don't care who is shipping what from where as long as they are being honest about it and taking care of any problems that arise, but this sort of thing winds me up properly. Especially with region specific media where it really does matter. Buyers shouldn't find themselves with useless stuff and no viable return options because sellers think it's OK to lie about where they are shipping from.
It may only be £13, but you would be doing other buyers a favour if you follow it up. Just my opinion and what I would do, others may differ :-)0 -
Personally, I'd open up a SNAD dispute (the fact that you got the US version and not playable on your PC, as well as the fact that they were scratched) and item misrepresentation (if the listing had said "Ottowa, Canada" or whatever, you'd have researched whether the discs were playable here, I know I would.)"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Finally, they have offered a refund, initially it was for £7.99 that I paid for the discs, but only if I returned them (to Canada, airmail...would have used all the refund money for postage!!)
Then they emailed me back again offering me another deal..and £7.99 and not to bother posting them. Im still down £4.99 original postage, but I guess its better than nothing!
I advised them to make the listings clearer about where the items COULD be posted from (ie various international locations, depending on stock), and to be more specific about the 'disc only' option.
Guess Im not able to report them to ebay for SNAD now they say they will refund? (just thinking about helping future buyers to avoid this hassle)0 -
Report them for location misrepresentation, at least. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Fay, how do you do that? I have a similar problem with an item I bought at the end of July - located in 'Liverpool'. Negative feedback saying shipped from Far East. Still no item!frivolous_fay wrote: »Report them for location misrepresentation, at least. On a mission to banish our credit card debts

Thanks fay, I'll try that, the location issue is one of the reasons they are getting lots of negs.0 -

I have actually just had a look at the listing and to be fair to them they do actually mention twice about the postage options and in my view its pretty clear.
However the big no no as already mention is putting the item location as London if its actually coming from another country although the fact it says it will take 6-8 days to arrive from London would make me think that's a lie and it it coming from another country.
Unfortunately this is a learning experience for yourself but luckily for you its not a very expensive one.0 -

fair commect I guess nexo, and in hindsight I kind of get it too, yes I will be much more careful next time! my gripe was that they managed to be much clearer in the after sale email than in the listing! I emailed them immediatly, I then paid the extra, but still have no cases!!
Others have also paid postage for the cases, but have not got them, just does not seem kosher to me.
A better system would be to have the full postage listed, and then a cheaper postage for 'disc only' then people can opt OUT of the cases, rather then opt IN, it would save the seller lots of negs and hassle too, they must realise its affecting there feeback score, so why dont they amend?
Im wondering if they only have the discs for most of their listings, maybe 'rejects' or 'grey goods' or something.
Anyhow, I feel better with a part refund...(when I get it) I just want to stop other buyers having hassle, lifes to short, its only a flipping game after all!0 -
Learning experience or not, they've broken at least one rule
