ebay seller increasing P&P

Hidden in the payment instructions at the bottom
"IN CASE YOU WANT THE FULL PACKAGE PLEASE CHOOSE "OTHER SHIPPING OPTION"
Yep, now I understend this, in hindsight I read it differently, perhaps I missed it, but I still feel especially in such a long listing, that something as important as this should not be 'hidden in the payment instructions'.
Even then its saying 'full package' which i now take to mean the cases and instruction manual, its still not making it clear to buyers, as their feedback shows.
I made the assumption that a 'new game pack' would include the game, case and manual, whay wouldnt it?
I have bought other original games on ebay, and all have come in there box.
It should have been clear what the listing was for and what was not included, I could kick myself really, but whats done is done.
Insidently, I have now found that the seller used to trade as 'john.f.ryan' and closed that account, opening under the current name on the same day (from feb this year), not sure if it is relivent.0 -

A separate account... or did he rename the current one? How do you know this?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
The problem is the pre-set postage parameters that you can choose when listing an item. In reality if you don't use parcelforce or the RM, you can only chose 'other courier', '24hr courier' and '48hour courier'. Certainly no options for different levels of packaging etc.; as a seller you would just have to hope the buyer reads the description.Yes we kept it on the one that automatically came up, but it was unclear, the other choice said 'other courier' we didnt want another courier, it didnt say anything about 'same courier but with cases', so as we were unsure, straight after we paid, we contacted the seller to clarify, and asked them to contact us before dispatch, we would have been willing to pay the extra £1.20, but they said it was too late.
In hindsight looking through the listing you can work it out, but its not clear, why not say '£3.79 is just for discs, all our listing will automatically be sent without their original cases or instruction manuals, unless you opt for the £4.99 P&P'
In any case, now I see some feedback where even the higher P&P rate was paid and buyer still did not get the cases!
From our experience it's incredible how few people upgrade to a quicker service. Often get people saying we need it asap, you still chose RM 2nd Class, rather than 1st which may only be 50p more!
There is definitely a flaw in the system here. From our website I'd say around 40% upgrade the delivery service.0 -
The items are coming from canada give it ten days then file a item not recived with paypal.0

Fay, renamed I think,
I went to his feedback profile, clicked on the 'view more options' thats under the 'member quick links' and then chose 'ID history'
In hindsight i know I made a mistake buying from this seller, and also for not checking and questioning before I bought, but I did, and Ive learnt that lesson!
I just wondered if there is something I can do about it, if it is just totally and completely my mistake, or if there is something more dodgy going on with this seller.0 -
Changing the name of the account is not a marker of a con-man

There may be something you can do - it will very much depend on what arrives in the post, and where it came from. Sit tight, and don't fret too much yet

Thank you guess im clutching at straws, (probably thinking of companies that stop trading and then open up under a slightly different name the very next day-with their wife as director!!)....I will now try and forget about it and wait till it comes...now time to do the ironing me thinks!:rotfl:
Ive obviously seen too many episodes of watchdog!!0 -
Finally another email from the company, they now say they will include the cases and manuals if i pay $5 more (for an item thats supposed to be coming from London?)
Now confused, as they told me the day after my order (29th Aug) that this was not possible as it had already been dispatched.
I have emailed back and said i will pay £1.20 -the difference between the two original postage rates, and expect an invoice asap.
Now wheres that ironing again.....0 -
Well, quick update...
Paid the extra for the cases and manuals, (but not via ebay, seller directed me to a paypal account), the cases and manual have never arrived.
The discs eventually did arrive, with two out of the three manuals (posted from Canada, NOT london as in the listing)
Three discs crammed into a card envelope, one disc very scratched, all US versions, all need updates downloading to work, but downloads lead to disc not being recognised by PC.
Have emailed seller, had responses but not getting anywhere really, they just email back saying things like "sorry million time, please email me any problem you having".
Looks like it may cost me the refund price to send the damn discs back, but think it is doubtful that they will refund anyway, check out their feedback with the neg filter on...many buyers having same problems.
Its annoying that they continue to do this, I know in the grand scheme of things, getting stung for £13 is not much, but its still annoying!0 -
Without sounding harsh you saying the listing was not clear.
So if I was in your shoes I would of emailed the seller any questions before bidding.0
