ordering one if I get through, long call queue as usual, personally I prefer it to the current white card and horse design I got.

--edit-- got through before submitted post and card is on the way :)

billbennett I was told old pin should still work.

I've never waited for more then a minute when phoning them, weird.

I've just asked for a new debit card from Lloyds because the one I have now, doesn't seem to like me using chip and PIN, and in nearly every shop I've used it in in the past week has made me sign for a purchase. That was weird for me as I first got a debit card after the chip and PIN roll out.

    Thank you.;)

It's quite possible Lloyds have sent you a Chip & Signature Card.

This type of card allows you to draw cash in any Lloyds Branch or you can get cash back in certain shops.

Another positive is you'll never have to worry about being accused of PIN negligence if your card is stolen or cloned. - No LIABILITY for fraud. (Even Irish victims are being held liable for the cost of fraud where a PIN is used).

No because it worked fine the few months before that, as did the previous card. It wasn't rejected everywhere, but in most places.
  • I've got a black one for my premier account on the way too now, so when that comes I'll put a photo of it up.

I have been accepted for the Premier account. I have always used the Classic bank account but feel in my position a Premier debit card would be more fitting and pleased Lloyds agree.

Of course they'll agree. It's gonna cost you £25 a month!

Personally, I wouldn't go for it if it weren't for the Joint Account loophole ;)

The only requirement for a Premier account is that the customer is eligible for the £500 overdraft.

The vast majority of LTSB customers are presently eligbile for this account.

It used to be that the account was for the LTSB customer elite who were high earners. Now it's for anyone willing to pay the premium.
Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right! :D
  • I've just received the hideous green card at #26. I am NOT going to walk around advertising an event which I am totally opposed to, so Lloyds will either have to give me a different card or I'm off!

Clearly they've been too busy designing apallingly ugly logo cards to get their systems working properly i.e. faster payments!

Well on this occasion they answered after a few rings, but did have to go through that dodgy thing first where have to say characters of password (it failed).

Got the card last week and it is quite nice, certianly better than the white card with the big horse on it. The renewal date is increased so will have it for a few years.

Out of curiosity (as a Platinum account holder) would you care to enlighten us, please?
