I'm just wading through all of this now to try to work out what to do. It is very confusing, though. I think I missed Martin on GMTV as I just switched it on and they're talking about Katy Hill (ex-Blue Peter presenter).0

I'm still unsure whether I've done the right thing moving from Click 5 to Fixed Price 2011. I'd guess in the long-term it makes sense but short-term?0

Keep an eye on Martin's article regarding this as it says...
URGENT! Last chance to cap and beat price hikes
Note: Due to current situation, this is monitored hourly during the working day, in case things change

I'm on the Click5 dual fuel tariff with BG. Martin says above that this tariff may not be increased for a few weeks. Will there be a separate capping option then, or should i do it now?
cheers.
I was on Click Energy 5 yesterday, BUT switched to the Cap Dec2009 deal. This was only available to 5.00pm yesterday.
As an aside I was NOT told that click 5 was NOT increasing,
My advice, have a good search at the other suppliers and then give them an inflated meter readings .... that way you will 'pre-pay' at a lower price, if you see what I mean.:cool:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam No idea why you removed it as it was something I learnt from this site - bizarre0 -
Hi
Everyone, I applied yesterday for BGs fix on line yesterday for the Dual Fuel Fix until December 2009.
I received confirmation of my e-mail at 12:19, before BG announced their price hike.
I have 'phoned Uswitch and BG this morning to check that I would qualify for the offer but Uswitch just gave me a BG telephone no where it was all automated and just stopped when it asked for a customer ref beginning "85"
I really want to know whether I will have been accepted, otherwise I will try to seek another capped rate. I am currently with EDF.
Please could anyone advise?
Cheers,
Steve0 -

is it possible to switch while still owing ££ to BG, and pay them off monthly?
would help saving elsewhere, over the years to come.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
I signed up for npower sign online 12 month tariff last week as i have just moved house and now i see all the press and the need to cap- even if i have an online tariff is it still cheaper to cap- i did call npower and they said they could give me a cap until july 09
what are the other best deals- is it the bg2011 or should i go for eon as they have not announced price rises yet
this is all very confusing and the time it takes to sort this out is probably not worth the £200 that prices may rise anyway0 -
I had just decided on the BG 2011 cap but have just realised that on my electricity bill my current tariff is Price Protection April 2009 (however it does not say the same on my gas statement, although I'm dual fuel so not sure if it covers the gas aswell??) so am now confused as to whether I actually need to change to the 2011 cap at all or whether I will be ok as I am?0

Missed the BG 2009 deal (was at work) is the 2011 deal better than the Eon 2009 capped deal???
Very confused why am I offered the Eon one when we are told on GM.TV that there is only the Scottish power one left??
Helppp
