Planes with about 50 seats are nice. I flew in one with Airsouthwest from Gatwick down to Newquay and was impressed with it. I think that it's more comfortable than a 737 as the seats are 2/2 rather than 3/3 so you won't get an awkward middle seat.
It flies lower so the views can be better if you have good weather.
There's less people so boarding and disembarking is faster and you don't have as long a wait for your bags to come out of the hold.

Sorry I can only go on experience and from what Im told

I work on 747-400's and A340-600 and agree that turbulence is caused by a multitude of different aspects in addition to my original post

I go to germany alot with Bmi and they use those small planes and the turbulence is normally alot less if any as they do not fly at 37,000ft.
who knows, every plane/route is different I can only go on experience as can most people on here

Rubbish mate. Turbulence is worse the lower you go because the higher you go the air thins. Thats why you can often have a very smooth flight only to get hammered in turbulence upon coming into land.

I have flown hundreds of times and used to commute between Liverpool and Belfast every few days. There was much more turbulence on those small quick low flights than the transatlantic ones.

OP, have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embraer_ERJ_145_family as it will more than likely be one of those :)

    As I said, IMO

fly between heathrow and Germany 2-3 times a month and work transatlantic full time.
Never flown to Belfast so can not comment
again, I can only go on my own experience, I am by no means an expert !

I have just found out the aircraft we are flying with to Corsica is only a 47 seat plane! Its a Flybe aircraft. I am a bit nervous about flying but am not too bad on big planes. Has anyone been on such a small aircraft and if so what is it like>>>>

    I'm intrigued !

Flybe don't have a route to Corsica and they don't have any 47 seat aircraft. Where did your information come from ?
If you are flying from the UK it is extremely unlikely that any airline would use a 47 seat aircraft for that length of flight - it wouldn't make it !

Flybe do operate charter flights from several UK airports to Bastia in Corsica. The OP is based in Scotland so I'm guessing they're using the Edinburgh - Bastia service. This is about 1100 miles, easily acheviable by an ERJ145 (which has 47 seats) which can travel over 1800 miles.

I flew on a 47 seater plane with Flybe between Aberdeen and Southampton. Didn't notice much difference but the engines were quite loud for most of the flight. I did get a bit freaked out when they stopped making noise just before landing. All was well though!
