47 seat aircraft - help

Like everyone else has said there is nothing to worry about.
yes the plane is smaller, but you will find that the aircraft will more than likley fly at a lower altitude and therefore the "jetstream" ( that causes the bumps) will be less severe.
Trust me, I live on planes and there is nothing to worry about
like someone else said, there may not even be any bumps

A 47 seat aircraft isn't normally classed as small. DH flies a 2 or 4 seat Cessna, now that's small!
Yes it will be a little more bumpy than a 747, but that's primarily due to the weather conditions. You will get a more personalised service from the cabin crew though, and Flybe's planes are nice and roomy inside with, as another poster has said, leather seats.
At the local flying club which is at an airport where Flybe have a large base, the Flybe pilots often wander into the club either at the end of their shift or if their own outgoing flight is delayed on its incoming journey. They are really nice and even recently have let our DDs go on the flight deck once we have landed.
Enjoy your trip!0 -

Its not the jet stream that causes bumps. They can happen at any altitude and from experience tend to happen more at lower altitudes.
Turbulence very very basically is caused when cold air meets thicker warm air.0 -
I flew from Bangkok to Laos and was terrified because the plane was small. It was fine though and after getting off we heard the 'Laos airlines' has a very bad reputation. Im pleased I found out after we'd been on it though!
The only thing that worried me was the noise it made, but stick you IPod earphones in, and it's fine

I flew to Sicily many years ago in a 'small' plane and it was perfectly fine, though we did have v clear good weather. It was a lovely flight - I had a row to myself (travelling alone) and was even able to ask for a visit to the cockpit - just as we were flying over the mountains appearing through the clouds! Perfect
I don't like bumpy flights even in big planes, but I wouldn't hesitate to jump on another small craft.

I went on one of these type of planes 15 years ago, the first time I went to visit my ds in Denmark.
It was very bumpy until we got up above the clouds. During all the bumpy bit the hostess asked if I would like any lunch, and I thought a it would make me sick and b where on earth was she going to producee it from.
As it happened it was in a locker and was sandwiches.
I found it a real experience. Unlike flying in a big plane. The captain had the cockpit door open all the way and his refreshment came out of a thermos.
All the passengers were really chatty and we were all a bit drunk by the time we got there. Free booze in those days.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Aidenr is definitely wrong.
I used to fly on 44-53 seat planes from Bristol to Scotland a lot, and they are far less comfortable than the 737s that everyone now seems to use. And that's because they fly lower and there is more turbulence, not less.0 -

I think that you'll find that 90% of airlines still provide free booze. Its the norm.0 -

I hope that you don't include Ryanair, Easyjet, BMIBaby etc. in that 90%.

Sorry I can only go on experience and from what Im told
I work on 747-400's and A340-600 and agree that turbulence is caused by a multitude of different aspects in addition to my original post
I go to germany alot with Bmi and they use those small planes and the turbulence is normally alot less if any as they do not fly at 37,000ft.
who knows, every plane/route is different I can only go on experience as can most people on here
