I attend college on Wednesday evenings so tomorrow is not set to be an NSD - the vending machine coffee has been put up to 30p for a cup of what can only be described as slightly flavoured mud!

Just had a brainwave though - I'll take a vacuum flask of coffee with me instead. AND, if I use the free jar of Maxwell House coffee I got the other day when my friend Paul bought £30 of wine from Tesco, it'll be even cheaper!

Can I stomach Maxwell House coffee though when I know that there's Blend 37 in the cupboard?

Does anybody find that they manipulate their spending patterns to create NSDs?
I do - I'm terrible for it. I know I'm going to run out of milk on Wednesday but will have to buy diesel today. Today's obviously ruined so I'll buy the milk today too, then Wednesday is clear to be an NSD.

    Crafty or what!!!

Oh yeh, I know exactly what you mean ;) I'm gonna run out of milk on wed too & should really have filled car up yesterday or today but damned if I'm gonna break into a NSD run so just hoping petrol lasts til tomorrow . (Done 288 miles, still have another 12 to do before I can fuel up - cutting it very fine  )

Day 5 for me yesterday & Day 6 today if I hold my nerve & dont buy petrol after collecting DD ...

Well, the scabby leftover-from-student-days Halifax o/draft has now gone :T
I'm now left with the other one with Abbey which WILL be gone by Xmas. The NSD days are a huuuuge help towards this, by not spending as much money there's been enough left to pay off a small debt already this month and any extra made or saved can either go towards the Abbey debt or into savings :j

Everyone's doing so well at the NSDs, well done!

I've finally bought some shampoo (as part of grocery shop) and went for a very basic supermarket brand. I've also managed to resist buying an academic diary which I desperately need in favour of making my own. Had a clear out of my desk and found a gorgeous notebook I bought about 4 years ago that I am currently turning into a diary. Copying out days and dates into it is possibly the most dull thing I've done in a while, but will definitely be worth it as it will save me at least £5 if not more.

Today won't be an NSD sadly as I forgot to get dishwasher tablets and I need to start getting OH some birthday presents. Will be sticking to a strict budget of course! Tomorrow however will be a NSD.

Almost through lunchtime and I have not left the office so therefore not spent anything.........could it be that I am going to successfully obtain my 8th NSD today!? I jolly well hope so!

The biggest difference this has made to me is that I am not going to the cash machine as often as usual......it must be saving me a fortune, because I get a tenner out, to pay for something small (and usually unnecessary) but end up spending the majority of the rest on other equally unnecessary items therefore having to go back to the cash machine the following day to repeat the exercise all over again!

  • Well done, people! I'm up to 7/10 thanks to yesterday but today's NSD was scuppered by me having to buy a stamp . I even considered not sending the (urgent) letter until the weekend just so I could have 5 NSDs in a row. I think I need to get out more....
  • i never seem to be able to do nsd's and im really late on this month but im feeling hopeful so im gonna say that im gonna try and do 4 for the rest of this month..ekkk!!
