Firstly Trafalgar, sorry but, my thread,my title, it is the truth and what is wrong with telling it as it is?
Red on red, very good I'm impressed, what a dry sense of humour you have!
Anyway, the response recieved today, so didn't have to wait too long, unfortuately, it was the usual rubbish- yes, it was indeed a pubic hair and we have investigated where it had originated from blah, blah thanks for telling us blah, blah sorry for the inconvenience heres £25 in vouchers!
Better than nothing, begs the question though what does one have to find in one's food in order to get a decent amount of compensation.........an arm/finger/answers on a postcard!!!!!!!!!0 -

how did they know what it was, had they done tests on the "hair" or even seen it for that matter,i had a similar experience some years ago, thankfully i hadn't touched the food it was right on the top, i took it to the local enviromental health, who did tests to find out what it was, it looked incredibly like a pubic hair but it was in fact a spiders leg, still YUUUUKKKK _pale_
It's very possible what you've found is a hair" of some description, i know people that work in the food/drink industry and have heard tales of what goes on, it would put you off eating & drinking for life  :silenced::silenced:_pale__pale_
but the title did make me cringeNobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission
Love doesn't make the world go round, it's what makes the ride worthwhile

Hi RUSHNOWT, the whole cake had to be taken to the labs with the foreign body for testing to actually clarify that it was the hair,in order for a response to be sorted out!
So sometimes they do actually test these things, I know on most occassions the product is thrown away, but I ignored the advice of the local MANDS and saved the cake still with the hair actually threaded through the cake, so it could be investigated further.0 -

Well, as I said earlier, all foreign bodies that came into our lab was always investigated and never just thrown away. Why do you think that most cases aren't investigated? The food manufacturer I worked for distributed to places like Co-op, Spar, Greggs, three cooks, etc ,etc
Rushnowt, it is true! After what came through the lab when I was working there, I was paranoid about everything.. Testing for bacteria on everyday foods is a real eye opener!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0
