M&S - I've found a pube in my pud!!!!

Please help, last night I found a rather repulsive thick black (pube looking)hair in an M&s summer berry cheescake. URGH, I here you all reply, yes it made me and my husband, who had eaten the remainder of the pud after a meal feel quite nauseous.
So I decided to ring M&S Meadowhall food hall where the pudding was purchased, and explained my gruesome findings(which I hasten to addwere cooked into the cheesecake, not atop it).

The reply-M&s
MMM,well, bring in your reciept,(which I havent got!), throw away the pud and hair(which I have saved), and bring in the box and we will replace it or give you a refund!!!!!!!!

LIKE I WANT TO GO BACK FOR ANOTHER PUD !!

Maybe she thought I COULD TRY TO FIND ANOTHER!

I was shocked at their lack of caring i this horrid situation and felt that a replacement/refund was a bit of a p*** take to be honest, but I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT EVERYBODY THINKS I SHOULD DO???????

Dont bother with the individual shop this is something which M&S will need to take further with their supplier, get in touch with their head office (which I think is based in Baker St, London) and let them know. No offense to anyone who is a shop manager but they really dont have the weight that head office do.

Speak to them, then send it over to them. You need to take the matter further with them, and they equally will need to take the matter further with their supplier.

I fully agree with lush walrus.

Having worked in the food industry (not M&S puds though), your complaint will be taken even more seriously if you can give them the batch number, which is normally printed near the best before date.

  • Thats discusting
I would ignore The advice of throwing away the offending item and infom the shop you intend to take it to your local health and safety inspector.
If it is a pubic hair then someone hasnt washed their hands which could lead to E-coli bacteria being in their food.
Or you could except a replacment pie but sounds like it wouldnt taste so good now lol
If you want to contact the inspector phone you local council office and they will pass you through
    Good luck

I'm sorry but the title of this thread had me in stitches!

Not in the same class as you but, I bought a "Big Bud" bottle from Somerfield once which was out of date by two months!

I wrote a letter to both Somerfield and Budweiser. Never got a reply from Somerfield but, Budweiser sent an apology and vouchers for 2 six packs of bud, a few months later I got some more vouchers for michelob beer.

I scanned the label and receipt and posted copies to them.

I suggest you write to them first before actually sending the offending pube in.
Take some photo's and scan the box label.

If they request they send you the items, do so by recorded delivery.
  • HI CYMRO,
Glad you found my title amusing! My husband thought it up last night when we were discussing the offending article, thought it would make a few people smile at least hoped it would ! Gotta laugh at the disgusting nature of the problem otherwise would cry!!!

goddamn it some people get extra protein and they still find something to complain about :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Are you sure it wasn't a spotted !!!!!! :D:D

    Ivan
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!

    Ivan

:rotfl: Now that would be a gruesome find....

I can't imagine how a pubic hair would of mase its way through the manufacturing process.

I used to work for a manufacturing food company in the lab. We used to get all foreign bodies for analysis..I'm telling ya, it's enough to make you sick!
However, your complaint will be investigated and you receive some kind of compensation.

Normally by now somebody on this board would have suggested either:
    (a) demanding some disproportionate amount of compensation; or
    (b) taking the story to the Daily Mail; or
    (c) infiltrating Head Office and sneaking your own pubes into the CEO's sandwiches.

Well done everyone for growing up a bit!
