If guilt hit me I'd find out her address
How do you find out the address of a complete stranger you happened to be in a lift with? Presumably you'd need to know her name first!2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

but saying that if she was still in the lift when i saw it i would point it out to her if she had left i would not go looking for her.
You've been had there then...my lottery ticket has always had 6 numbers on it!English by birth. GEORDIE by the grace of God.0 -
Hand it in to the nearest police station. If it was not claimed inside 2 months then you can legally claim it.0

If I could find the lady again I would give it back to her straight away. And I wouldn't expect a reward, I would just hope that someone might do the same for me one day.
If I couldn't find her (and I would do my damndest) then I would ring up the lottery organiser to find out where I stood. If I could claim the money then I would - but depending on how much it was I would just buy a few essentials and give the rest to charity.
I couldn't enjoy money gained in those circumstances.Self employed and loving it

As for them asking where it was bought from - "I buy tickets all over the place, can't remember, sorry."
She already realised she had lost the ticket - what she doesn't know won't hurt. I would most likely need the money than she would.
I say all this but in the heat of the moment I would probably pick it up and run after her - and then regret not keeping it to myself later. Probably better to regret not keeping it, than to regret keeping it - who knows?!0 -
yes l would, you would not find the woman again and if you took it to the police they would keep itWould you keep the lottery ticket?
You’re in the lift at your local shopping centre, a woman talking excitedly on the phone says she won an unspecified amount on last night’s lottery. Yet she’s saying she can’t find the ticket and asking her husband if he’s got it. She gets out at the next floor, and you notice its fallen from her bag and on the floor, as the door closes.Click reply to have your say.

What are essentials? New house, new car, two holidays per year for the rest of your life, ....
Winning the lottery is down to luck. Finding a winning ticket that someone has not looked after is also down to luck.0 -

I was in Weymouth Asda last week and had used the self-checkout counters when I noticed a fiver had been left in the 'change' slot by a previous customer. I immediately gave it in to one of the customer service staff who kept it by and made a note in a log-book. How would I have felt if I'd left that fiver and somebody swiped it?
Going off topic here, but I would keep that fiver even though I wouldn't keep the lottery ticket. I've worked in retail and this happens frequently; no-one ever comes back for the money and that fiver would most probably have gone on cakes for the staff.Self employed and loving it

I would get out of the lift at the next available stop & do my best to try and find the lady in question. If, after a time I was unsuccessful then I would probably keep the ticket because how can you get in touch with her? I wouldn't leave it with security at the shopping centre though because they would most likely make off with it themselves.
If I was able to find the rightful owner, however, I would definitely return the ticket to her because I'm just too honest not to. The guilt trip wouldn't be worth it!!0
