Thats rubbish that you wont make conference.
Mind you its taken me 2 years to get there?! lol.
Im driving down from scotland and my mum is coming to the conference with me.
But we are making a weekend of it and my fiancee and my dad are coming too but they are going for a tour round ainfield (sp?) on the sat while we are at conference, then on the sun we are going to blackpool to the pleasure beach before heading home sunday night.

    Im well excited. :D

    Hey Monica,

for advertising iv done it in my local paper and i wouldn't reccommend it. It was expensive and i got nothing from it. But feel free to try and i hope it works out for you.
But your right in evenings/part time jobs section or health and beauty section.

Iv always just made my own posters up depending on the month or what offers are on. Iv used the companies posters too. It just depends and also depends how creative you are.lol
My manager sometimes makes posters up and sends them out to the team.

    Luv H x
  • Hi I've just signed up to tbsah and was wondering if I was allowed to promote my own business at the parties (I am an aromatherapist & massage therapist). I didn't want to ask my manager in case she said no !!! lol!!
  • do what you want hun, it's your business. Would you be selling your own products or just offering your services?
  • I'm doing PP, but with a different cosmetics company, and my manager thought it would be a great idea to promote my other skills (I do IHM and reflexology). I don't see why you couldn't with TBS, it's not as if it's a conflict of interest. In fact, why not use Body Shop massage oils (if they do them), or casually mention that you do TBSAH parties, and cross-promote the two things.

Hezza thanks for the advice regarding adverts in the paper. My husband works for our local one and he said its really not worth the money. Ive got some posters made i just need to print them off and hang them up lol.

Ive noticed a few people have put ads on ebay for parties/recruitment. Not sure how much this costs though (im tight when it comes to money lol).

Have spoken to my hostess for Friday, shes got 7 confirmed with around 4 more who havent got back to her. Also one of her work colleagues who cant make her party has asked if she can book one for November in time for xmas so thats another booking without me having to do anything! Hopefully things are picking up for me.

Had a party booked for September 5th but she cant do it now so have changed it to a party in a bag! might as well!

Hows everyone doing for bookings etc?

Im a bit slow for party's just now. Trying to think about getting my xmas parties booked.
Plus need to start organising my fundraiser i have every year in novemeber.

And dont worry about promoting yourself at your parties, i do! and my manager encourages it. Im a trained nail technician and i use all the peppermint collection for all my pedicures. And always have a book for my clients to look at whilst getting there pedicure!
And by christmas i'll be qualified in make-up treatments too, plus i do waxing. My buisness card has everything on it and i hand them out all the time.

So dont worry about it and it fine and can help you get more orders and maybe even parties which is always good. ;)

well I'm all signed up. Training on tuesday and the tuesday after that then it's getting into the parties. My job for now till tuesday is to book 3 more parties. Has anyone got any tips? I don't want to make my friends and family feel that they have to help me out if they don't really want to. I know that not everyone feels comfortable with direct selling at parties.
Also, anyone who has done the training, what should I expect?
  • I am coming to the conference with a consultant I know...and still trying to get the money together to join myself...in the meantime, who is coming to the conference?

    Hello all!

I've just signed up to TBSAH and am due to do my training on Sunday. I've currently got two parties booked in for my first 6 weeks, and working on the rest. I already work in a Body Shop bricks and mortar store which I think will really help with product knowledge, but it means I can't attend conference as I'm down to work that day!! Looking forwards to getting started and keeping up with this thread :)
