  • Just got back from training. One of the AM gave us some good tips about getting parties and recruiting. Cold calling and approaching businesses, especially car garages, asking them if they would like to buy some products to give to the women when the fellas buy a new car!

I'm thinking about joining TBSAH and wondering what everyone's experience is of sales at parties. What is the average order value at an average party with a normal number of guests (and how many is a normal number of guests?)

    Evening ladies,

few answers to some of the questions that have been asked.
firstly, fundraising, the reason most consultants do 10% of the sales to the charity is complicated, but i'll try explain it, because its a fundraiser, like you said theres no host (technically) so no free host shopping and half price shopping, (well no host to claim it) so the consultant gives up some of there wages, a consultant gets paid 25% of the party sales, so for simply working out the maths, most consultants give 10% to the charity (easier to work out) and then they get paid 15% of the sales.
normally for fundraisers, i would advise you to do a raffle on the night withh all proceeds going to the charity and the consultant can maybe make up a big prize to donate or a few smaller prizes (depending on the consultant) this will help raise money too, or even charge a £1 entry fee (iv done this before) and every penny counts to the charity.

About training and becoming a consultant, i know one of the girls PM you but for anyone else, you will be allocated a manager who will basically become your friend, she/he will be there to answer any questions and to support you 100%. Before any parties you go through induction training which is done with your manager and gives you a basic understanding of the parties and the products. Then every manager is different, but my manager does a monthly meeting (which involves team recognition and workshops) and there are regional meetings every quarter for the launch of a new catalogue (or sometimes a national meeting will replace the regional) i try attend all meetings but sometimes i cant, but my manager tends to email us all some days for meetings and goes with the majority, but every manager is different.

Xmas conference in liverpool........ 3 weeks and 2 days to go!!!!! im so excited! Its my first national conference and i cant wait, my mum is coming with me. I'll be with the crazy bunch from scotland! woop! would be nice to meet any ladies on here that are going. PM me if your going and maybe arrange to meet even just to say hi.

Just realised how long this post is!!!!! sorry about the essay! :p

Hope all your parties are going well....just remembered, average party attendance is 12, aim for the host to hand out 20 invites with the view of 10-12 attending. and average customer spend is about £25. But varies depending on the time of year (xmas is peak selling season and peeps spend more)

this might sound like a silly niggly question but I'd really like to know... How much do consultants have to pay for catalogues? can you get them cheaper if your sales have been over a certain ammount in a month? If that is supposed to be secret information only available to consultants (I'm wondering because I can't find it anywhere) then I'm sorry for asking, though I would be grateful if anyone can let me know either on here or by PM.
    Thanks
  • I work at the venue where the conference is to be held; even though I plan to join this month, I don't see myself eing able to come to the conference just yet...
  • Im going to conference, can't wait!!!

    Hi elliep,

catalogue can vary in price depending on the season, we buy them on supply in packs of 20 and they vary between £3-£5 as i said depending on the time of month, if near end of the catalogue they get reduced.
Also at reginal meetings and sometimes even team meeting there is chances to buy packs of £20 for £1 or sometime can win them but it depends on your manager and what she/he does as promotions within there team.
you dont get them as part of the sales promotions, the sales promotions are normally products in the next catalogue or cash bonuses.

    Hope this helps.

    Luv H x

Hi all! Well, its party number 3 for me tonight hopefully it will go better than parties 1 and 2 and people will actually turn up! My sister said shes got around 7 confirmed (as of yesterday). I'll be doing the usual things, gift for my hostess, game (probably the party rhyme, if anyone has any games please pm me because ive only got 2!), scrub, shower soften demonstration and makeover demonstration.

I hope to god i get a decent party tonight because ive not got off to the best start. Both my hostesses for my first 2 parties let me down despite me going throug the book so they could pick what they want free and doing all my host coaching with them.

Its a half 7 start tonight but i will definitley post on here tomorrow and let you know how it went. Keep fingers crossed lol.
