1/ How can customers pay for goods? Cash only?

Customers can pay by credit card, debit card, cheque or cash. Not master card

2/How can consultants pay for goods - cash, debit/credit card?

    debit card

3/ Are there delivery charges, if so what are they - same as online store?

    £5 to 'host' or consultant

4/ Delivery of goods can be to the consultant's address or the party host's address only, is that correct?

No you can specify a different address if you like, work address etc

5/ Are consultants able to buy stock at cost/wholesale price, to sell at fair/Market? Or do we get any other discount? If so, would purchasing goods at a reduced price contribute to the £150 minimum for each rolling 3 month period?

I think if you want to do a fair you have to 'register' your pitch with the Body Shop

6/ Do consultants have permission to use 'The Body Shop' logo online or in print?

    yes

7/ Other than party host benefits, customer offers on specific product sets (that I believe aren't available online or in-store) and having the opportunity to 'try before you buy, in the comfort of your own home), what are the benefits for customers - why would they keep buying from a consultant instead of going in-store or purchasing online, direct from The Body Shop? I'm trying to understand the additional value of buying from a consultant - I appreciate in the run up to Christmas the chance to shop away from the hustle and bustle of busy shopping centres, but if I have to wait for products I'm personally buying, I expect the delay in receiving the order, to be balanced out by getting the goods at a cheaper price, or alternatively, obtaining a product that is not available in store, perhaps due to demand or it being limited to BS@H customers.

will let you know when i know! i have started recently..

Not trying to be controversial, just really interested in this, and want a better understanding before making a commitment :) x As an existing and loyal Body Shop customer, I'm very much aware of the on-going offers to buy in-store and online, and wondering how consultants manage to compete!

Any answers, advice etc is very much appreciated - thanks![/QUOTE]
  • Just started in the run up to Xmas.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks, sounds like you are doing well. I have had 2 parties at mine so far with over £150 sales each time - I have a friend doing one in october but no one wants to do a party using the summer catalogue now as so much is OOS. It's not easy but I will keep plugging at it.
Less than £150 at a party is just not worth it as you don't get that £30 bonus...
Planning to do a xmas fair, is it worth it? where do you get stock?

Not much is actually oos when you check as if your doing an order tbh, most of the presents are but then they have released some of the christmas stock to cover this and there have been a few discountinuations but not much. Plus the end of season sale giving 30% off is excellent. Do you have many summer catalogues left? If so you could try doing a catalogue drop similar to avon, just cross out the oos items and put a little note in stating 30% off everything and when you will collect.

I have done two fairs so far (summer ones) one I took stock with me which was stuff I got free from having my home party and using my commission and the other I just took orders as both were local so i thought I would see which worked best. Definately having stock works better you get much more people buying. I am going to place an order next week when the sale starts and put it on my credit card then again when the christmas catalogue goes live. I have worked out my list of what I want and with 30% plus 25% commission £25 free and 70% off it works out Im getting everything for slightly more than half price so cannot grumble at that :-) I will put them through as different orders under one party and that will mean I will get a couple of the gold bags for free as well which I will use as tombola prizes.

Thanks! you have given me more info in your posts than my manager has in a month! she was just eager to sign me up and get closer to the cancun trip!
At each party I have put in an order for my 'sister' for the items on offer, so I have a large collection of body butters and hand hemp to put on a stall. Do you think make up will sell well?
Catalogue drop is a good idea for next week - I live in a smallish village though and some of the girls who bought from me yesterday at full price might get a bit miffed!
  • Thanks - some fab ideas there!
It is tempting to get a load of stuff next week at 30% off, and the rest...
I just don't want to get stuck with loads of unsold make-up and ebay is a big no no i gather...

And about catalogue drops - how long would you leave them for?
I have about 60, thinking of going to the next village to drop them off to avoid the girls who bought from me this week!

And is it right that if you take an order for over £150 you get an extra £30 in your bank account?

It depends on how many houses you are planning on getting through. if you drop them off tomorrow (all 60) you could then collect them again tuesday night (make sure they know when your going back) then drop them off again the same night (take extra letters and order forms with you) and pick up again thursday night which gives you a day to get any straglers. Make sure you ask everyone if they would like to see the christmas catalogue as well.

Not sure about the £30 to be honest Ive never been told about that but I do get extra money put into my account by bodyshop each month so guess thats what its for.

It is a bit hard knowing what to buy and what not to but I am buying things I would like and things that if they dont sell then I can use them as christmas/birthday presents
  • Anyone else doing BSAH?! could do with some motivation and swapping ideas!
Fab time to join now in the run up to Xmas - no pressure to do parties, I only did 2 and bought all 3 available kits - figure that if it all goes wrong I can sell them off/use them myself!
  • Hi, I have been thinking of joining TBSAH for a while now, can someone PM me with the details of starting kits and prices and promos at the moment, I heard that you can join without having to do the 4 parties, as long as you have over a certain amount of orders per month...is this true? Any joining bonuses at the moment? Thanks :D
