Ha Ha Ha....welcome back... just came back to this thread to find you here
  • Hi There

I am new to the forum and i have registered my interest to become a body shop at home consultant. I have spoken tot he local manager and decided to wait until the summer to start. I am currently on maternity leave and need to be around to feed my 3 month old son, so would rather start when he has been weaned.

Can you really make a full time career out of this? I know you need to become a manager or regional manager to start earning bigger. How long does this usually take?

I am desperate for a change of career and don't want to go back to my office job and would love to know that body shop at home could be my full time job, enabling me to look after my children and take them to school etc.
I absolutely love the body shop products and what they stand for and I love anything to do with beauty so I know this is a good start.

Looking forward to hearing more :)
  • I have just signed up as a consultant and am so pleased to have found this forum.

I have a few questions though.

I just confirmed my application today and sent in the forms. I know I have to book in 4 parties this month and I feel like I am under a lot of pressure with handing in my dates. How much time am I allowed to arrange my first parties ?

The second thing was that I am not quite sure about how the sales work during the parties. Am I suppose to supply the products and bring them with me or am I suppose to take orders and send them in ? and do people pay me up front or do they fill in some kind of form ?

I had to go through the application process almost blindly and didn't get to speak with anyone directly until I had already handed in my IDs and card details.

When I finally got the call this morning I was just so pleased to hear from someone that I completely forgot all my questions. X

Just speak with everyone you know to get some party bookings. You can be a party host and invite your friend....Lots of offers at the minute to give incentives.

First 4 in a month is to motivate you to get going - it is your own business and if you start anything from scratch you will do whatever it takes to get it off the ground right ??

You take orders at the party and the goods are delivered to the host with all orders individually bagged

Payment is always with order - cash or card...The system will work out everything for you.

if you get cash .. you pay on your card.. bank the cash and keep the 25%.... Card payments are on the system and TBSAH will put the 25% of those sales into your bank account ...

    Hope that helps....

    Hiya!!

It is fab when your kit arrives isn't it?

I had the same feeling my order arrived and had my £50 of new products - which were FREE, plus another £25 Free that i got as my order was collected from different friends so i was the host plus, the make up offer! WHich my commission paid for ! So i had £130 free products - it was just like Christmas! :)

Getting really excited about the way April is shaping up - but need to put some more effort into May!

But you're absolutely right it really is a fab way to be in control of your own life !! Good luck with it and please keep us posted :)

I've just joined TBSAH, i have my first party tonight which is at my Mums. After that i have two friends who said they will book a party just trying to pin a date down with them. I must admit i am finding it difficult to get my 4 parties... What happens if i don't do 4 with 4 weeks?

Also, i work full time besides doing TBSAH and was wondering how it works with tax, VAT and NI??? I haven't told anyone yet that i'm doing it?

Do i need to open a seperate bank account??

    So many questions i know!

Your need to register for self employed for starters with HMRC.
    You can call them on
    Newly self-employed tax helpline: 0845 915 4515

Or you can do it online
