The Body Shop At Home (Hints and tips)

welshgirl - i really don't think its right that you've had such little feedback from your AM.
i love doing body shop and most of the reason for that is the people, and the support i get from them. and as KP said, if your RM is Julia Bassett (who ia lovely) then she would not be happy that one of her girls is getting so little support. i'm so sorry you'd have such a crap experience, and i would definitely speak to your AM, and if that doesn't work then speak to someone higher. i really hope you get it sorted.
oh, and you should go to monthly area meetings and every so often there are regional meetings in place of an area meeting - if you are in Julia's region then last months meeting was a regional - so you should definitely have got an invite. x x0 -
Hi Welshgirl, I am about 1.5hrs from you and have to travel closer to you for the meetings as they are held in Bristol.
My Manager got promoted to AM so we now have one in Swindon, which makes life easier, but last night we had a regional meeting and it seemed a bit far away, but the managers are all lovely and i got a bracelet for my sales of £1700 in November, so you def should be getting some huge praise for over £4000!!!
Please feel free to PM me as we are not that far from eachother really and you may well be in my area, it seems to cover a huge area up to Glos and across to Wales and out to Oxford!
The regional meeting last night was fun, made easier by my lovely AM driving all of her team from Swindon. As i said i got a lovely silver bracelet and we were all given a christmas card and a picture frame for christmas.
I have two more parties before christmas, so am hoping to lift my sales a little.
Take careLeopardlady

Hi all,
Just thought I would share... I've had a rubbish December, with 6 out of my 8 first parties cancelled! I'm thinking they all felt pushed into having one as I had to get my 8 and didn't really want to
I'm short of getting my £600 so that I don't have to pay extra for the kit..but I'm only £70 short and I would have to pay an extra £70 for the kit so I'm thinking I'm just going to order £70 worth of stuff then at least I get something for the extra money.
Got a few January parties booked but it's put me in a bad state of mind thinking that they will all cancel now
Trying to stay positive lol! Honestly...!Married 5th June 20101st Baby born 12th April 2011:j0 -
Ok I've cheered up a bit now. I called round and got a few orders and managed to hit the £600 without paying too much myself! And I've got some January sale pre-orders. I'm going to put these through on Sat 20th, any idea when they will be delivered? Will I have to wait until Jan to receive them?Married 5th June 20101st Baby born 12th April 2011:j0

Thanks so much to everyone for your responses!! It means alot!
I know what you are all saying - that she prob thinks cos I am doing well she doesn't have to bother. I do think that if I lived closer maybe she would involve me a bit more in the team!
I am in Julias region, yes. I did get an invite to the regional meeting but thats a good 2hrs from me and it was on a night when I had a party booked in.
LeopardLady - Swindon is about 3 and a half hours from me!!!!!!!!!! I am right in the west of wales!!!
Its such a tricky one to bring up with my AM isn't it?!
I'll see how things go with her in Jan!!!
On a different note.................got some 2009 catalogues today - lovely stuff!!! BUT - there are no details of the host rewards in them?!?!?! Anyone know why?!!0 -
I think it's because they plan to change the host reward system before the next catalogue. Don't quote me on that but I'm sure it was mentioned at the regional meeting. Don't know what they are changing it to though.
Anyone else excited about the new sale email we are getting on Friday? I'm hoping it will boost my end Dec/Jan sales!!Married 5th June 20101st Baby born 12th April 2011:j0 -
The host reward system is changing in Feb. You should have got a flyer with the current system on it waying something about the benefits of Jan parties. The new system will start at the beginning of Feb but that's all we've been told. Julia Bassett did our regional meeting last month and that's all she was allowed to tell us. I'm sure more details will come out closer to the time but that's why it's not in the 3-month catalogue. The PWP will be changing too hence why that's not in the catalogue.
Just to back up previous messages, I definitely think you should call your AM and tell her how you're feeling. If you don't get anywhere with that then go direct to Julia. Have you ever met Julia? She's absolutely lovely and cares so much about each individual. If she knew how unsupported you're feeling she'd make sure something was done about it straight away. It is only fair to give your AM a chance to sort herself out without going over her first though.0 -

The poorly consultant still gets the sales (ie: we put the sales thru under her number) the consultant covering gets the commission & any party bookings from it. That way no-one really loses out.
Good luck for SS3 on tues.x
aww thanks for that tip i mite mention that one maybe. It a good idea then that way every1 gets sumit out of too. I got my SS3 lastnite im chuffe to bits i dunt no how i did it as ive lost my voice and can just wisper lol but was a good party and they were all interested and i feel like i know alot about most products nowxx

Hi all, i love this forum, so so helpfull!!
Kimkim - if it helps - the way we do it in our team is that if someone is ill another consultant does the party, we then return the favour and give them back a party, maybe one booked that night if we get one. It seems to have worked so far.
Welshgirl - you have done excellently getting all those sales, you should be very pleased with yourself, as should your manager and team. I do think the advice so far is great, if you don't find your AM that approachable why don't you drop her an e-mail, that way you can ask her to call you and discuss the concerns further. you could use a method I use in my full time role:
to make you feel better the tactic of stating what has happened, how it has made you feel and then what you would have liked to have happened, it works wonders as the person listening really has to think about it to respond - good luck!
Also anyone able to help me please? I would love to get some more business locally, i'm goin to pop adverts everywhere i can think of that is free (or close to free), but thought i'd do some letter box drops around my area, what sort of things would you suggest, i was thinking some of the xmas catalogues with an order form, a business card and brief note introducing myself to shift a few of the surplus catalogues but anyone had any success this way in addition to the parties in gaining any new business?
Thanks, Vic x0 -
Hi Vic
I was thinking about how to do catalogue drops too as I didn't want to spend money on catalogues I may not get back, so I've had some postcards produced at vistaprint and bought some extra january sale flyers and I'm just going to put one of each in an envelope and maybe a sample in some and drop those through the door. Each has my phone number on, so if they want to book a party or have a catalogue they can call.
It also means that I don't have to go back out and collect catalogues in the rain!
On another note, did anyone get their DSU yesterday? I didn't get one and I'm wondering why?!Married 5th June 20101st Baby born 12th April 2011:j0
