Well it's going to be a NSD for me as I'm not going out anywhere. Was going to take the kids to the beach but as the pier's burning down I think I'll avoid it for today. Also can't do any line drying due to the smoke cloud over weston. kids bumming around in jammies after their long hot day out yesterday so may get myself a duvet cover and pillow on sofa as it was a long hard night last night.
Nephews bday so we're there later and leftover picnic rolls for lunch.

  • Hello!

I'm declaring a budget of £120 this month as I go away for a while. I've already spent £53.50 (including a £10 on wine!) but according to my meal planner and the stock check I did of the fridge, freezer and cupboards I don't need to get anything else in except for a few loaves and some fruit and veg. I am justifying the wine to myself as the weather has become nice here and so a wee glass (very large glass) of white in the garden goes down a treat and it was 3 for £10.

    Cheers,

    SR

wow!! i'm away from the comp for a couple of hours, and we're well into the Aug thread!!

i went to MrT's this afty to stock up on dog food, as i had £4 worth of coupons i wanted to use. also got some more bread flour and yeast and chocolate :D

orkneystar i have a weekly budget set at £50 a week, and when i declare my final total, i add up all the weeks ie 4 or 5 and my total spends. so for this month, it was a 4 week month, which meant i had a total budget of £200 and i spent a total of £166 HTH

right, am off to bed now:hello:
Yeah thanks, angelnikki said you did that and its a good idea. I think I will do a weekly average for myself and give my monthly total- this is a 5 week month but we are away for 1 so it will be £40/week or £160 for the month (why does £40 per week sound like MORE than £160 for 4 weeks lol).

And so it begins for me today. I've my meal plans already sorted - it'll just be a question of giving up cola, I think, to get the costs down. Which is going to be hard. Good luck everyone!
Lidl do cola, I think the 1.5l is 39p and they also do 6 x 500ml for about £1.49 ish. It tastes like coke, and there is also a light version.

    :hello:
    Morning all,
Well I am in a good mood today cos its my birthday (am not listed at the bottom as don't think I put my DOB in!) :p .
NSD today grocery wise although think hubby might take me out for lunch or something else by way of pressie.
Waiting in for the post as mum has sent me a pressie :D
Dinner is tacos, using mince we had already cooked and some peppers and taco shells (obviously lol). Meals this an next week are basically using up a lot of freezer stuff only buying a few bits, (and will hopefully manage to stock back up on meat later in the month if/when we see whoopsies, or maybe a butchers trip one week when we don't need much else and can spend most of that weeks money on meat).
Might also bake some blueberry muffins as have blueberries in the fridge.
Have a lovely day everyone, mist here again, so washing will have to be hung indoors (no heaters on so it won't really dry :()

At the moment our Lidls (I live near 2 aren't I the lucky one?) are doing Diet Pepsi and regular Pepsi for 25p a can or 5 for a £1. Full size cans, too.

    And Happy Birthday Orkneystar!

Ok, i'm in, month runs as per the calendar. With my re-organised budget i'm aiming for £175 for august with my bulk buying budget running annually at £300. Will see if this makes a difference:confused:

    Sorry, two replies at once.

Just noticed my recipe for baked potato pizzas on the recipe list. Wow! Considering I'm just a real beginner - this is a real honor indeed. Especially as I'm only just beginning to learn to cook. THANK YOU! :j
