MRSMCAWBER vbmenu_register("postmenu_13002669", true); , I agree about the spuds being awful lately. Several times recently I've not bought potatoes in the supermarket as they look so bad. I normally buy the non washed new potatoes as they used to stay fresher for longer than the salad type potatoes but even they are awful. I had to rethink dinner at the last minute earlier this week as I went to scrap the potatoes and half of them weren't edible.
I read on here that spuds aren't the best thing to grow if you have limited space as they take up so much space but I am going to have ago next year anyway.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Today I spent £4.85 at Tesco Express. That was 2 500ml of Pepsi, a packet of crisps, newspaper and magazine. I left my drink at home. Must remember next time.
I then went into Holland and Barratt and spent £10.16. I bought Cashew nuts, dates, pumpkin seeds, crisps, crystallised ginger and apricots.
I then went to Woolworths and bought 2 bottles of coke for £1.50.
I then went to Boots and spent £6.32 on pyjama pants and cotton wool pads.
Then I went to the butchers and spent £26 on chicken, chops, sausages and burgers.
Then I went to Sainsburys and spent £61.55. It was at 5pm and I spent quite a bit on cake and ice cream. Also bought magazines and a skittles set. Husband also likes the expensive yoghurts. Does anybody know of any good cheap yoghurts that I could pass off as being posh.
So total spend today is £110.38
That leaves £19.62 to the end of the week or £539.62

Having attempted to do a cupboard/freezer inventory I am totally embarrassed that the contents of my cupboards was too large to post at once - 28500 characters where max is 25000 , and that was without the fridge or freezer contents  . I will not leave the house tomorrow only to walk the dog and I will not be taking my purse !!!Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0

Is it worth getting a Kenwood Chef? I am looking for an investment present to put on my Christmas list (my grandma will be requesting a list shortly...)
Yes,makes life so much easier-great bread,quick cakes(Mary Berry fast,all in one style),mixing Twinks,soon crumble,lovely pastry,used to have a spud rumbler attachment,mincer great for combining leftovers.
Can you guess I find mine usefull:rotfl:
Look for a second hand one, often good bargains

If you are fortunate enough to be able to be gifted a NEW, MODERN one - grab it with both hands and grovel your thankfulness to your grandma!! It will save you money hand over fist. Not only does it make cakes to drool about, but bread and all yeasted items are wonderful, the slicing/chopping/grating is so handy, the liquidiser is robust and reliable ... oh, I could wax lyrical about it for ages [you'd never guess, would you *wink*??] So, from one confirmed Kenwood devotee, if you have a chance - go for it.
I'll be only too happy to chip in with my very few MS hints re the Kenwood later, if you would like.
all the best to everyone

Almost a NSD
Ended up paying £1 for a cheese savory sandwich from Greggs at lunch time (DD and I had half each) as I forgot to make sandwiches to take out with us.
Not bad though as usually I would have bought one of the wraps at £2.99 each or the pizza slices at £1.20 each

In answer to the earlier post about till spits (sorry can't remember who posted it now having read all the way to here!!) I work on the checkouts in Mr T and they seem pretty random to me, I sometimes wonder if they do them more for people who haven't used their clubcard in a while to try and encourage them in, or people who tend to do very small shops to get them to spend more. I shop in there quite often (hence why trying to cut down!) and I never seem to get them
As an added afterthought I will see if I can find out next week what if anything triggers them and report back!
Sorry, what is a till spit? You can't stay young for ever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life.0 -
