Hi there,

I used 2 cartons of strawberry Activia and ended up cooking for 10 mins more than recipe states (took it out of oven after stated time and middle was runny still whereas after 10 mins it was the gooey cooked stage- kind of like banana bread texture).
Yummy yummy yummy

Today I have been all over the place... literally. I went to Lidl (Abbey Wood) first for a nose round, and bought avocados for 20p each (3 of), butter for 85p, 4 pints milk for £1.40 and whole peppercorns for 65p... total spend in there, £3.50.
Then over to Thamesmead to the big Wilko there, and I spent £2.81 on 4 permanent markers, an A6 notebook and index strips (for keeping track of what's good from where and how much to pay for it), 6 reusable plastic cartons with lids for the freezer, and bargain of the day... a grow your own iceberg lettuce seed starter kit at 75% off so 25p!
Then wandered over to Morrisons because I needed a joint to roast for tomorrow and spent £8.71. Sadly no bargains but I did get my white vinegar so I'll do the WM and DW tomorrow when I've looked up how much to put in for descaling purposes.
Drat... forgot the extra 70p I spent in Somerfield because I didn't have a loaf of bread ready for lunch, I'll update my sig in a minute.
Total spend today: £15.72

Hi all.
I've just found this site and I'm really inspired to bring down my shopping bills (which are horrendous)... So... my budget for the month is £450, which is still very high but it's a start.0 -
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this already but Somerfield are doing a pack of 9 loo rolls for £2. This is at least half of what I usally pay. I resisted buying the whole stock (it's just me at home) and bought just three which should last quite a while. It's up to me now and nobody else.0
