Hurrah  anyone in halifax who cant get any now because you cleared the shelf will know who to blame

I'll make sure I dont post any more bargains on here in future otherwise people like you will buy the whole lot and not leave any for anyone else.

I didn't buy it cos I saw it on here...I bought it cos I saw it on the Tesco website last month when I was looking at buying flour to make bread with. I hadn't really thought that I was buying it so no-one else could, I was doing a months worth of shopping and I seem to be making bread every 2 days so originally ordered 16 packets but then added a couple more. The store my online delivery comes from is a giant one in Bradford, I don't know what their stock levels are like but they don't even sell it in the Tesco in Halifax that I can get to.

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Leia, just to let you know my bread came out OK and non-alcoholic as far as I can tell! Just very very crusty but it's nice, glad I don't have false teeth though hehe

At the moment I have an excel spreadsheet that I made up myself to keep track of my spending but that looks like a very useful site so I might start using that too! Thanks for the tip.

Spent £2.82 on milk while i was out. Also added a spend from sunday i had forgotten about. Not doing too bad, still got about £45 left in budget and i have loads in, especially meat! May need to buy flour soon though, i got a 3lb loaf tin and its huge:eek: Makes good sandwiches though.

Ouch OrkneyStar, hope the pain eases soon.

Mrs M have you ordered your Remoska?

but that is what happens if you buy huge quantities like that.

Every 2 days would be 16 so you didnt actually need to get 20.

Some people cant just go to the shop and stock up on stuff when they are cheap as they have to rely on waiting and getting all they need from the delivery they have once a week. If stuff is out of stock then they have to go without.

I've said this before on here: a couple of months ago when there was a panic that the price of bread flour was gonna go up (which it didnt) everyone cleared the shelves in the supermarkets and lots of people had to go without for 2 months!!

Please be responsible when you shop and leave things for other people too! A lot of people cant go round all the supermarkets to find what they need and have to go without a lot of the time because stocks have been cleared of things unnecessarily [/rant]

Is it too late for me to join in?

I realise it's quite near the end of the month but I've been doing a lot of cutbacks recently and have given myself a monthly grocery budget of £40.

I'm doing quite well at the moment but it would be great to share the experience with everyone else! :)

    :hello:

I've added you to the september list. The new thread will start on the 28th/29th so keep posting on this one until then.

    Good luck! :)

I don't have the option of going round all the supermarkets or getting regular top-ups either, and I rely on my shopping delivery once a month to get the things we need. Yes I only needed 16, plus extra cos we've got guests coming on Sunday and we've been asked to provide the rolls for the burgers so that's 2 more bags I needed. I got 2 extra as spare in case a batch goes wrong or we end up having people round again, as I won't be able to get any more for another month. I also bought 6 big bags of nappies and 12 packs of wipes. I wasn't stocking up on it cos it was cheap, in fact until yesterday I didn't know that it wasn't always this price and by then I had already done my order. I added a couple more bags on when I found out we had guests coming.
