Just a quick one. Has anyone else got notification about Tesco clubcard christmas saver thing on their points? I have just signed up as you can now save them all for Christmas - you still get your statement and extra vouchers but don't get the clubcard vouchers until November, plus extra bonus points too! Better for me as I spend the small £5 - £10 I get each time so would be a way of saving for me...:D
If you didn't get a note in with your clubcard vouchers, you can sign up for it online. Hope that helps someone... Darnit:mad: Must be the first time I haven't read the blurb that came with the vouchers so thanks for that Denise...guess where my next stop will be:p Tesco's website here I come! I've given up with doing the stamps thing cuz I like to go round larger stores to see what I can get that's a bit different for crimbo food, so it makes spending a 'card' of stamps difficult if you don't get the £50 in one hit...IYSWIM:o
Back to reality & yesterday was another NSD for me....one of the offspring wanted the paper anyhoo, so I'm just nicking the MOC:DFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Hi guys
I'd be interested in starting a grocery challenge next month, but we get paid on thurs/fri this week so will be doing our big shop then, any idea when the september one will be up and running? I spose I can always do my sig anyway
Think I'm going to put £330 as my budget as that's what I think we're spending at the mo (don't shoot me, 2 babies in nappies, formula etc) and go from there.

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

I want to join this challenge for next month - as a first timer I have no idea how much to set as my budget - I think i spend about £100 on average a week - Thats for myself, 4 children aged 16,15,6 and 4 - my partner eats here sometimes and my eldest daughter's boyfriend is regularly found rumaging in my kitchen!
I use to think I did well - cooking from scratch etc - but this thread puts me to shame!
I know I'm a bit early but I wnt to start meal planning now as I get paid next week and my cupboards and freezer is full so want to make use of what I've got in next month!
My kids are yougurt adicts - I seem to spand a small fortune on them - any ideas on how to cut this cost?
Also what have you all replaced crisp type snacks with? any ideas would be very helpfull0 -
Sorry not been updating as I should have been doing, combination of Summer Holidays/kids and having to take both of my cats to the vets, both needed their flu jabs, but Annie became ill the week before the jabs where due. Sadly Annie had liver faliure, she did'nt respond to treatment, so I had to have her put down.
So far I have spent £289.38 on groceries, but have had to use £100 of the grocery money on Annie's vet bill, so that totals £389.38.0 -

You could make your own yoghurt, I have an easiyo maker from Lakeland but rarely use the sachets as they are expensive but I use this recipe which you can sweeten with 2tbsp (or more!) of sugar before you shake
2 tbsp shop bought greek yoghurt (freeze the rest in simliar amounts to make the next batch)
2 (tbsp) milk powder
1 litre(nearly) UHT milk - whole milk makes thicker yog but I use skimmed and add a bit more milk powder)
Put yog, powder, sugar if req in easiyo container and fill half way with milk, shake and the fill to top with milk.
Shake again and put in maker which has had boiling water put in and leave overnight!
You can add your own sauces/fruit etc
My kids love it :TSealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151
