    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody has used rain cheque coupons in the supermarkets. I've decided to get as much as possible on offer and this sounds like a good idea.:A

  • Do Tescos accept 2 vouchers if you spend £60 or more, or do you need to do 2 individual shops of £30. Or does it just depend on shop?
    :hello: JULY G/C £50 WEEK

    WEEK 1 = £69.50

    WEEK 2 = £60.83:eek:
    Week 3  £72.05

I dont think they will accept both coupons together, but there is no reason why you cant do a £60 shop but split it into 2, so 1st lot goes though the till and you pay for that ....then 2nd lot goes through same till and you pay for that.. i think it states on coupon " only one coupon per transaction/customer"... So take some one with you.

Or if that is not possible do one shop at the beginning of this week and then another next saturday?

    Hi all

I have been given a NOTW coupon but I haven't got £30 left in my budget and it has to be used by next week.

It seems a shame not to use it.......... can I spend it on store cupboard stuff and take it off next months?
  • Yes, i would , do not let it go to waste especially if you were given it and didn't have to pay 95p for the paper, then you have the full £5 off shopping. Lucky you, we went out and purchased two papers.

  • Denise hope you're not feeling too sore today . it can be so frustrating can't it, when you can't get done what you want to cos you're in pain. you never know, the kids and your OH might tell you to put your feet up for the day, and they'll do all the housework :rotfl:

Thank you Mandy_Moo - guess what, didn't get to put my feet up! to be fair, they did do some but hubby sprained his foot friday too and DS just wants to get out so I'm thankful for what they did do. Am feeling much better now although still quite hard to do anything with my right side without getting a belt to remind me... hey ho, as they say...

Another NSD for me today although I should really have gone shopping as we now have just a smidge of milk and no veg in but will get some tomorrow now as just couldn't face the shops...

BigMummaF - you are so not a dinosaur - you come up with some wonderful ideas that most of us would never have thought of - and as for technology, at least you try and obviously succeed - my hubby is hopeless - he has sent 1 text and 1 email in his whole life - he has only just started using the internet and I have to keep going over to see what he's done wrong as he's always saying 'stupid thing, why won't it let me do...' coz it's ALWAYS the computers fault! but I suppose he is 'trying' (in more ways than one) :D:D

Have paid this weeks grocery money and diesel money onto our credit cards so whatever we don't spend stays on there - if nothing else it should bring the interest down as more coming off in payments each month... we'll see?

  • Returned yesterday from my hols and wanted to pop in to say hi. I won't read all the posts (think it would be december before I finished) but wanted to say I hope all is going well in all your budgets.

Quick question- are there people saving for a definite goal like a holiday or are people economising to reduce spending to a happy budget?

I'm going full time in september which means less holiday but more money so I will have to rethink my budget. I would like to give more away and invest in some new toys (kenwood chef and a slow cooker) but also save for a really good holiday

Hi Sian the Green. Hope you had a great holiday...:D

I think it's a great idea to have a goal when doing this challenge. I started by just wanting to reduce my overall spending, and although I go over a bit sometimes, I have still achieved that and am really pleased with myself ;) .

But to keep the momentum and give myself a 'mini challenge' if you like, I have just started to pay any remaining budget off my credit card - ie: budget £60pw - spend £52, £8 off card... My aim is to get at least the high interest one paid off within 3-4 months (balance is about £480 atm) :j .

It may not seem like a lot to some people but it's such a buzz paying that small amount extra each week off the card knowing what it is achieving, and it makes me want to save even more each week (I HATE having to buy lunch now and get really annoyed with myself if I forget my sandwiches... )

So I think it's a great idea if you set yourself a goal to do something with the savings - even £1 a week is great (there is a challenge on here somewhere to pay SOMETHING no matter how small, off a debt or put into savings EVERY DAY - which I think is a brilliant idea - I'll check back and find it)

Good luck with your 'mini challenge' whatever it may be... :D
