Tesco's Semi-comprehensive Car Insurance Policy ...help !!

RE: Courtesy cars
If you had an accident with a third party and it was their fault then you would have gotten a courtesy car, the third party's insurance would have paid for it.
You will find that if the accident was your fault or no 3rd party was involved then you wouldn't get a courtesy car.
With all fully comp policies a courtesy car is an added option. If your like me when looking for insurance I want to go for the cheapest option so think "do I really need a courtesy car"?
With regards to your no claims bonus, when taking out a policy always tell them what NCB you have in your hand from the old company, then state your driving experience. I hope that they understand eventually about the discussion you had about your bonus when you took out the insurance. Otherwise it may not be good news. Insurance companies will try to not pay for claims if they can help it, so therefor you need to make sure and double check all the information that you have given at the start of the policy.
I hope this helps.0 -

Given the rest of rubbish in his posts, I would be so sure he is telling the truth...0 -
Cheers Tinker ..
But what i am saying is i did not ask for a stripped off cheap value insurance policy.
I'd have had the TESCO value insurance (that was the actual level of service i recieved as of VALUE insurance policy). if i was bothered about the cost.
So the bitter reality is I was victimised for not reading the paper works, Its maybe bit too late now to be whining about it but i am still disatisfied about the fact i asked for a FULLY COMPREHENSIVE( not just comprehensive) policy which would have everything a fully comp policy should have.
Personal Injury Cover
Legal Cover
BreakDown Cover
Courtesy Car / Replacement Car Cover.
And i am very dissappointed that ppl cant realise not everyone owns several cars.
The legal cover, breakdown cover, courtesy car cover would be an extra to any policy. When taking out any insurance you will be asked if you want these things as you can either have them or not. Obv if you want them it will show in the price of the policy.
Tesco have been right and offered you a comprehensive policy, what you asked for. The things you have expected to be in the policy are extras.0 -
YeaP oooooooh !
Its like i am in the totally wrong place where no one seem to answer my question but seem to be deriving more self gratitude and satisfaction on proving how stupid i am or whatever.
I just wanted to know legally where do i stand, does anyone know if i can cancel the policy, if yes HOW?
And if you dont know the answer , i mean something that could help me and any other reader in similar situation, PLEASE do not waste your TIME . Thanks-+++

glad you are not shooting at me defending TESCO .
Ok ! But i do not want to have any policy with TESCO after the apalling level of customer service i have had.
Maybe i can settle the total loss with the remaining premium and the cost of the Car Wash Kit woth £100 they should have given me. (that was the offer at that time).
Anyways thanks mate. . .-+++

Always read the small print and never listen to anybody over the phone take them with a pinch of salt.. Any how the documents sent will have all the details of whats covered and whats not it is very important to read it. I SHOULD TAKE MY OWN ADVISE BECAUSE I DON'T READ IT.:D Pay the remaining instalments because the insurance WILL BE NON AND VOID as you have not paid the full policy. If you play hard ball with them then they will in return.. Good luck
and reading the other replies: More trolls.PLEASE ADVICE NOT INSULTS.(I would rarely need them as I own several cars) I have several on ebay the toy section.:rotfl:  NOT AN INSULT JUST AMUSING.
IT
:money: COSTS NOTHING:money:
frankly I feel sorry for any Tesco employee who has had the misfortune to deal with a moron like yourself. Very mature reply :rolleyes:NO!MY NAME IS NOT WORZELIM JUST FEELING SLIGHTLY ROUGH TODAY0 -

None of those are standard in a fully comprehensive policy.
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FULLY COMP AND COMP - THEY ARE THE SAME THING AND JUST MEAN THAT YOUR CAR IS INSURED AS WELL AS THOSE OF ANY THIRD PARTY.
Others have answered your question about cancelling.0 -
Basically, your car is no longer there so the policy is not needed, hence Tesco will deem it as finished. However as they have paid out on the car you will need to pay for the full policy. Some companies will allow you to pay this over the remainding months that you had left on the original policy or they will take it out of the final lump sum you receive for your car.
You will need to speak to Tesco again and look at your policy in detail.0 -
a lot of companies dont include a courtesy car as standard on comprehensive policies now. If you want it you can have it if you pay extra. its a matter of asking for everything you want and not assuming you get things. I tend to feel that often if you pay less you get less.0
