Just a warning, I ordered a dvd from play.com and was sent a copy
The dvd was not sealed and instead of receiving an original dvd it contained a printable dvdr. I have emailed them and returned the dvd for a full refund, but I am extremely annoyed and will not be using them again

I've spent over £2k with Play.com and find it a fantastic site. I'm sorry if you have received this, but as you say return it explaining the situation and i am sure you will get a full refund and maybe a voucher for further purchases.0

Could be that someone ordered the real one, copied it and replaced it with the copy and sent it back for a refund? I always use play.com and have found them nothing less than brilliant.0

Yes I also think that somebody probably ordered it and sent a copy back for a refund. But their returns policy clearly states items for return should still be sealed or faulty. This dvd was not sealed, therefore why was it not checked before being sent out ?? It was a very good quality copy, but the purple back gave it away. Also the artwork was very good but still easy to spot a printable disc. Just hope nobody else has received one thinking it is an original. :eek:0

wow extrodinary. Yes they should check items that are faulty before sending them out if proven to be false. I never had this problem before and not disputing your claims obviously Play are at fault.0

The reason for my earlier question is that Sony disks now come in a great orange/pink colour and look as if the label has been printed very badly. Crimson River 2 is a great example.
I've uploaded a couple of images here:

Good thinking. The DVDs I get on rental from Amazon often look the same, as if they are copies, but I have never thought for one moment that Amazon would get involved with anything illegal.bigglesinc wrote:The reason for my earlier question is that Sony disks now come in a great orange/pink colour and look as if the label has been printed very badly.Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here!
