I got my first post crash offer this week. 40k under a very well-priced asking price - which is 40k below offer this time last year. People offering know its very low but they;re not going to offer any more as they know a builder is subsidising the move. Even a relative of theirs who lives a couple of doors up was embarrassed when I told her their offer.
Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.
  • Well last couple to view wanted to put in an offer 2.5k under asking price, but before I got too excited they had not even marketed theirs Arghhhh, bles them though they thought my house was lovely. They are now marketing thier house (considerably smaller than mine) for the same price as they only bought recently and cannot afford a drop. So I won't be holding my breath for them to buy mine-they were lovely though.

Just got another call from the EA, another couple want to view tomorrow, I asked their circumstances, this couple will be marketing thier house with my EA soon! but would like to see what is available (can they not do that from looking at rightmove?).

I know this is the way it is ,and I have to grin and bare it -but it does niggle, just a bit that I will spend hours presenting my house, for someone who just wants a nosey.

My house is still the 2nd cheapest 3 bed and by far the bigest, does not need any work and is very good value, I asked the EA about dropping the price and they said that I had had a lot of interest (compared to others) and they felt I was still very well priced but I could do a 5% gifted deposit to attract 1st time buyers.

Well just wanted to update (and have a bit of a moan if I am honest) I fancied a lazy day today, not much chance of that eh!

  • Well, at least you are still getting offers Mishmash and get a tidy house into the bargain :D

I haven't had a viewing for weeks - and my housekeeping standards have slipped a bit again :p:D

I've given up now, although I'll probably leave it on the market for the time being otherwise I'll have to pay for a new HIP if I take it off. Apparently, as long as you don't take it off the market you don't have to provide a new HIP (even though the searches will be well out of date  ) I won't get started on that....

We've had two viewers this morning, one who said our house was 'nice and clean' I couldn't help thinking that was the only nice thing he could think of to say!

Another 'no show' yesterday. I knew her in a previous life & she was daft then, so I wasn't exactly surprised. Plenty of cash in her family though!

Today's viewers were very keen & are coming back, so that's nice. Not sure what stage they're at though, as agent disappeared half way through viewing.

Oh, what fun this is. I think we will give it till mid October & then I'm going to get decorating. Don't want to get caught with my trousers down when the mad rush begins in the spring!:rotfl:

One of our viewers (a FTB) came with his dad this morning as his girlfriend was at work, he phoned the EA and asked if he could come back with his GF this evening...they came back with their mum so it looks pretty positive!
Also, I looked out of the window about half an hour later and they were strolling back past, looking at the house.

*Tries not to get hopes up*

The one to leave the country of course. I'm not being the one left to put all those lights out!
  • Well

I take my nastyness back, my house is gleaming; coulple came to view. Said they loved it, size location everything they asked about what interest there had been etc. They then told me, they were cash buyers -but do have a house to sell (just don't need to sell it to buy mine). He said he thought mine was very cheap and that he needed to make some arrangments but could I be out very quickly!

I actually know of them-I am sure they do have the money in cash, not just pulling my leg.

Anyway all the kids and OH out, I have a lovely clean house and I am very excited (keep trying to tell myself not to count my chickens and all that).

Keep your fingers crossed for me lol

    Mish
  • Fingers definitely crossed -it does sound promising :D
