I email customer services, and they sent me a standard e-mail stating th policy. This didn't work either. I emailed back and stated that dispite my other local supermarket being further, that I would rather go there and not use coupons than the shop refuse to follow national policy.
I was replied to by a supervisor, asking for the stores name and location, as they wanted to get in touch and clarify. I obliged, and recieved another email saying that everything was sorted and they would gladly follow national policy.
My advice kick up a fuss, if you don't they walk all over you. That goes for every national company!
I've had similar problems, some cashiers take mocs and some don't,I've found the ones that won't just cba to deal with them really & they are very sour faced about it too,the ones that do accept them are happy to do so.I emailed Tesco CO to get clarification on coupon policy and got the same reply as above that you can use mocs etc etc.I've asked them to inform the managers Tesco stores that I use of the correct policy and to pass it on to the staff as well, because if I can't use coupons I'll go to lidl or aldi instead as they are cheaper0 -

With Tesco's it all depends on the store i had the same reply from Tesco about using moc. When i asked about a certain store this is the reply i recieved
Thank you for your email.
Please accept my apologies for any confusion over this matter.
This is our general policy, however Store Managers can limit the number accepted if they so wish. Many stores have a limit like this, and this can be for a number of reasons.
Sorry for any disappointment.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting
Kind Regards

So basically a store can make its own rules up, the best thing i have found is to nicely ask at Customer Services.

In theory you could use coupons towards a mobile phone. I have done so once - I have also (separately) bought games consoles and an ipod with a coupon discount - and several times I have bought other electricals, games, DVDs or CDs etc.
But it would depend on your store being coupon-happy for a start. Assuming you have a local store happy to follow the one of each & no limit policy (there are still some stores where they do but I am not naming my locals, lol!) then what I would do is:
1. Pay for the mobile by taking the empty box or product card to a normal till with other food shopping.
2. Make sure the till you choose has a friendly/bored young face manning it (important)!
3. Then collect the phone, after paying, from the electricals desk. I have never got the electricals desk at my local to even begin to understand that I could pay with coupons so that's the reason for recommending that you pay at a normal till with your shopping.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

after I'd replied and asked Tesco CO to pass the correct coupon policy information on to the stores I use, I got this response from them todayI'm very sorry that you have been having problems redeeming your coupons in our store. I can understand how upset you must be.
I can assure you that we always try hard to offer our customers an excellent service. So, it's very disappointing that we haven't done so this time.
To make sure that this issue is dealt with appropriately, I've passed your complaint to our Checkout Managers. I know that they'll fully investigate your concerns and do everything possible to prevent this from happening again.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know.
Kind Regards
