Just to be a pedant for a second, it was pretty widely known that the earth was not flat from about the 4th century BC. People certainly didn't think it was flat a few hundred years ago.

I think personally, you realy need to do some homework before you can even comment on a subject like this.
I mean, you wouldn't realy be able to recite the Bible without reading it thoroughly.............

most of the replies to this thread are diatribe, If any of us saw a UFO or had a close personal experience, where would you report it Knowing full well you would be ridiculed no end. Thats why any or most sitings are panned. No I have had none myself!

Yes, I'm sure a website called "ufos-aliens.co.uk" has a totally objective and unbiased view of unidentified lights in the sky.
