  • No idea about people's payments, but I'm still waiting for my game. 20 days since I paid for it, 16 days since they say it was posted. Just sent them another email asking for a refund or a replacement, but doubt I'll get a reply.

ive always been surprised as to how their forum which is on their own site has so many complaints - why would people buy from a site that has complaints about it already on there?!

Dunno about anyone else, but I didn't realise they had a forum until I was hunting on Google for a phone number that they will actually answer instead of leaving you hanging on for hours - by that time I had already ordered and was just setting out on the long and so far unsuccessful trail of "where the he!! is my game?".

Maybe the moderator quit after he didn't get paid.

Anyone here tried to join the CeX forum? I haven't had an administrator accept my application yet. Could be nothing or could be that they're trying to stop more unhappy customers flooding their forums with tales of their incompetance.
  • They have told me today they will be issuing a refund. I won't hold my breath, but will be pleased if they do.
  • ... Still no moolah here. Dropped them an email, I wonder if they'll reply.

EDIT: they replied to my email, at firs they said payment had been made (which it hasn't. So I replied, then was told they can only send a cheque, something to do with their system not allowing me aniother BACs payment. WTH?!
  • having been an employee of cex ltd, until the cataclysmic failure to pay staff earlier on this summer, i believe that there are a number of flaws.

    1) having quit this job, i have realised now being a consumer, that it is not a cost effective shop. th egames are over priced, especially PS3 games, wth GT5 costing 14.00 in CEX and being 9.99 in Gamestation. similarly with GTA 4 being £38 in CEX and 29.99 in Gamestation. A preowned SIXAXIS controller is 19.99 in GAME but in CEX its £26. Overpriced goods.

2)there is never ever a month in which SOMEBODY has not got paid. this is true of CEX before i started work there and after.

    3) None of their telephone numbers work. none.

4)i personally have boycotted this shop because of its overpriced goods, the fact that the shop is a harbour for very strange customers lacking many of their teeth, and also the fact that there is so much junk taken in that is not resold, that at the end of the day, it would not surprise me if the shop is full of a load of outdated tat no one wants.

look at the size of any ps2 section in any cex branch. its huge.

this is a from behind the counter analysis of this store.

i hope it dissolves into s**t.
  • Pleased to say I finally got a refund, but I won't be dealing with them again.
