Indeed, in December A&L offered the so-called £50 cashback incentive:£50 cashback offer is only applicable to new Alliance & Leicester current account customers opening a Premier Direct Current Account or a Premier current Account who have also applied online for an Alliance & Leicester Personal Loan, Direct ISA or Online Saver in the last 24 hours.
I think this incentive was on offer for a short while only.Dagobert0 -

Once you had completed the online application for their Online Saver, there was a button at the bottom at the page "£50 cashback", which took you through to the Premier account application. The eligibility criteria were the same as for the Recommend a Friend scheme.
I think this incentive was on offer for a short while only.
I got this on opening my OLsaver issue 2. I had opened a Premier Direct account only a week earlier!. I wrote a letter saying I was disappointed that I had to do things in a specific order to qualify and was not told this order until the deal was done. I was polite and forthright. They took nearly two months, but I received a cheque for £50 the other day!0 -
There's other posts on https://www.fool.co.uk which mention A&L not paying this incentive. Personally, I'm glad I dumped their account when I realised how complex they made it.0
