Why not do what the rest of us do and pay for parking?

Bishops Stortford is now taking a firm line with people who abuse the parking in its centre.

    Regards,
    Art.
What do you mean "abuse"? Cars are meant to sit on roads. People pay road tax in order that roads can be prepared for their cars to sit on them. If these dopey councils lifted the even dopier restrictions and hefty car parking charges that they levy, the shops in these areas might enjoy something of a renaissance. Councils would save an absolute fortune if they stopped putting yellow lines at every verse end street. There's no need for a lot of it and much of it ought to be removed. Doing so would reduce traffic levels as hapless drivers spend ever increasing periods clogging up the roads while they are driving around in circles looking for somewhere to park.

taking a firm line means becoming strict

Right I'm off to New York from Heathrow T5 on 13 August and getting back on 19th...I'll probably get slapped for this cos I haven't researched this site...but where's the best parking deals on the airport?...so far I've got £61

years ago I stayed at some village B&B just a few miles from the airport and left my car there and it worked out a great deal...are these things still going?

Take a look at www.airport-parking.co.uk and use promo code MSEWEB from the Airport Parking page and you will get parking from £42.75 and Meet and Greet Services from £50.30 :money:

For Newcastle Airport, best discount is around 45% and can be got by visiting their website and using Promotional Code WS08. This was printed in the local press.

    www.newcastle-airport.com

I've just booked parking that would have cost £90 for £51 by booking direct (23/8 to 7/9). Cheapest through any of the booking sites was £72.50 approx.

Hi All - I'm new to this chat forum thing, but finally registered after seeing this thread!

Whenever I've parked at Manchester airport I've left my car at clough bank farm. They've now gone upmarket and got a website (hope that hasn't pushed the prices up)
They are basically a farm near the runway by providing parking and mini-bus transfers (they leave as soon as you are ready and you just call them once you have your luggage and they come and pick you up!).

A couple of weeks ago I parked at Regent Lodge Hotel - it's nothing special but parking for a week, transfers, a nights accommodation and full english for two was £80, not bad considering we were landing quite late and parking alone was around £60 - sometimes lifesaving has to come before money saving and I figured driving home late after a long flight wasn't a good idea!

    Hope that's of some use!
