Hi, does anyone have any current suggestions for 1 weeks' parking at Stansted airport for October? Any off-airport tips would be welcome!

Cardiff Airport Parking Shop now have a comments and review section

    Cardiff Airport

It must be nicely moderated because there are links to this forum on it! Never seen a company actively advertise MSE before!
  • I always use compare websites and avoid the dodgy cowboy firms:A.
    Try this one:Gatwick Car Parkers

You are always better off with these compare sites as the companies will have been checked first.
  • Hi, booked airport parking at East midlands airport via the AA as were advertising 20% discount for members, I was directed to Holiday Extras website and booked it as they advertised "free if found cheaper".However searched through MSE website later and found Skyparksecure to be cheaper so contacted Holiday extras only to be refused "free if" offer as i had compared on MSE website and it was a special offer so did not count,I think the "FREE IF" offer is misleading so check all prices first before booking.
  • Yes, I have heard of this before, usually it is a sales ploy and is unethical by trading standards. I see it as being similar to 'buy one get one free' adverts in stores, as what it really means is they can sell an item at half the normal price and still make profit, so sell two at the normal price of one.
Bit over used in quotes but what is they say about no free lunch and all that?

It is always stressful when trying to arrange parking at Uk Airport, and other airports are no different. Information on the parking facilities at the major UK airport parking is extremely helpful, particularly when it is provided along with other essential airport services information.
  • Your only main concerns are to avoid the cowboys and also the airport's own parking as that is where you will get stung.
  • I own and run an airport parking booking company, which deals exclusively with Gatwick airport. I am more than aware how tricky it can be driving into Gatwick for the first time and how the powers that be at the airport have designed the layout and road signs to coax people into the fee paying short stay car parks, often cleverly designed as 'Passenger Pick Up', when meanwhile there is a larger and totally free passenger drop off area just around the corner, however, more covertly sign posted.
We know why they do it, it is a business but I believe it is unfair in its design to approaching travellers in their vehicles.
Furthermore, there is a booming 'meet and greet' industry at Gatwick and did you know there is not one single sign posted to tell drivers where that is?....bearing in mind that over 30 million people go through Gatwick every year.
As Gatwick is laid out like IKEA and designed to rip you off basically with short stay parking charges, I have created a photo gallery showing the meet and greet areas at the north and south terminal and if you need complete video directions recording the actual journey, then we have made video too.
If you dont agree with our description of Gatwick's deliberate difficulty with parking signs, then please feel free to park at either short stay car parks at the airport and see just how long it takes you to find the parking payment machines.
I will post the links in the next post and yes it is our company and obviously we have commercial interest in posting this information and if readers regard it a spam and it gets removed, then please send me a private message and I will send you all the links and information because at the end of the day over 85% of our customers say the signs are misleading and also so many drive through the short stay car park barriers unnecessarily. If you are driving to Gatwick, do not get stung by fees, look and see where you need to be first.
  • Well apparently I am a newbie and cant post the links, so please send me a private message and I will gladly inform you all.
