Name of present? Kids DVDs for Adults

Do you make it or buy it? Buy it

    Total Cost? Varies

Details (the more the better) Apart from the usual prezzies for my brothers (22 and 25) I usually get thgem weird or funny gifts etc. This year I have bought both of them a dvd of cartoons from one of their fave shows from when they were a kid. They will (of course) groan on opening them but give them a few hours and they will be in the DVD player being avidly watched by an overgrown kid :)

Where possible please add a link if it's an online offer Most online sites that sell DVDs - of course the ones where you can use money off vouchers and/or get cashback are the best if it works out cheaper :)

Name of present? £20 Goldsmiths Jewellers gift certificate

Do you make it or buy it? Buy it

    Total Cost? £5

Details (the more the better) If you have £5 of Tesco clubcard vouchers going spare use them to buy a £20 Goldsmiths deal token which you can then either use to buy some jewellery worth £20 yourself - or exchange for a £20 gift certificate to give to someone else :) Only costs you £5 but it looks as if you spent much more :)

Where possible please add a link if it's an online offer http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard/index1.htm
  • Idea : Xmas cards
Instead of buying individual cards, just buy a gift voucher from a favoured store and get a complimentary card to put the voucher in. There is usually a good range of cards in M&S, BHS, etc, available at the tills. These are free as long as you buy a voucher. Put the cost of buying a xmas card (usually £1) inside. Imagine if everyone of your friends and family did this. You would receive probably 20+ £1 vouchers at least. Something to spend in the january sales.

I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
  • I have decided to give people a trip down memory lane this year and have gone all vintage. Best present so far in this category is the following:

Name of present? Original 20year old Brut soap
Do you make it or buy it? Bought on ebay
    Total Cost? 1.50 including p & p
Details (the more the better) my dad used to love this and i think it will put a huge smile on his face

Going to try and give the small people in my life something like Fuzzy Felt.
  • Name : Sun-Print Paper
    Buy
    Cost : £3.99
Description : Ten sheets of A5 light sensitive photographic paper which produces white-on-blue images. The object is laid on the paper then placed in sunlight for a few minutes.

£3.99 from Hawkin's Bazaar, catalogue, 13 shops in England or online https://www.hawkin.com.
This is a brilliant 'shop' for loads of items under £5, too many for me to mention.

Do not buy from Cox and Cox (catalogue and online) where it would cost you £13.99!!!!

Name of present? A Home made recorded Christmas Carol

Do you make it or buy it? Make it

Total Cost? Under £5 for a cassette and gift box or free if you have them already

Details: Get the kids together or yourself if you fancy a sing song and record on to a cassette everyone singing " We wish you a merry Christmas etc" and a lovely loud " Happy Christmas, Granny/ Mum Auntie etc" .

On the tape write PLAY ME and to impress place in a gift box in tissue paper and a bow. This is perfect for sending abroad and also works for Birthdays too.
