People who moan about putting kids in trollies!

I take no offence However I just feel that you should perhaps reread what I wrote?
My argument was exactly what you have just written???
I dot wish my daughter to run wild in the isle nor do i want her hit with a trolley, Not sure where you shop but if they have fork lifts in there you may want to reconsider where you buy your shopping?
As you say she is my responsibility and I will do everything in my power to keep her from harm, and if that means offending people by letting my daughter sit in the end bit of the trolley then so be it.
So where exactly is your argument as in blunt but laymen's terms you have simply reiterated what I said in my very first argument unless I have misread the point you where trying to get across?
So again I challenge all readers to find the solution to the child in the trolley argument?
Hugs as always

I'm do not object to kids being put in trolleys and never said I did disagree with it.
I am picking up on the part where they are aloud to run wild in storesand get bashed by other people with trolleys.
But I will have you know they do use fork lift trucks in the supermarkets, have you not been in when they have to move the pallets about, how do you think they get them on the top, my sister in law worked in them for 12 years and she ended up leaving with a bad back from just stocking the fridges & freezers.
Our store is a very busy one, can you imagine how heavy a pallet of sugar is, well there's only one way to get that into the store a fork lift truck.
As for your argument on getting trolleys fixed, you need to be persistant and get other mothers perhaps to sign a petition thing or something and then show it to the manager of the store in question or report them to the safety standards or whatever they are called.
It just may be you haven't made a loud enough noise in the right place regarding the safety of the child seats.
But I'm sorry I don't know a solution other that what I have suggested.
If I could find an answer for you I would, as I have difficulty getting roung the store sometimes as I am disabled and I won't use one of those scooter things cos I'd probably kill someone ;D and when I have to use my walking stick I have to hang on to my trolley and there buggers to steer at the best of times.
Pleas don't think I am someone who didn't have kids, I have an autistic daughter and it was a nightmare to take her shopping, I tried her in the said trolleys and she use to kick me in the stomach all the time so I couldn't take much more of that, and she would climb out of the inside part of the trolleyfrom a very young age as she was very hyper- active too, so really unless I literally tied her in her own trolley I couldn't go out.
She is 18 now in Feb 2005, thats why I am so knackered now ;D. But believe me if I could help I would, I'll make a few enquiries at our supermarket and see if they have any complaints, or anything that might be able to help.0 -
Hi Pat
My daughter didn't run wild in the supermarket, she's always been very well behaved. I just found that she was getting under peoples feet or in the way of the other trolleys (a LOT of people don't look where they're pushing their trolleys) It was difficult to push a trolley while holding my daughters hand and so I found that if she sat down in the trolley (fingers well tucked in) it was altogether a much 'easier' shopping experience.
I know that everyone's got different opinions of what's right or wrong but to be honest it never even crossed my mind that other people may think it was unhygenic or unsafe to let my daughter sit in the trolley :-/
Makes you think eh ::)Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
they should have a cage by the door to put your kids in as you go in, and collect them on the way out. or if you want to be posh, a creche would help. the money they are making, why can't they provide one without costs.0

Could they also supply gags so we dont have to put up with screaming kids all the time??
Why is it that dog owners can't hear their dogs barking and the local mothers in our shop just dont seem to hear their kid screaming its head off? >:(0 -
a creche in a supermarket would be lovely :-)
when my asda first opened there was a lloyds bank inside the door and they had one of those tables with those curvy wire things that you move beads along. there's probably a name for that but i can't think what it is lol! i knew a woman who worked in the bank and she'd let my son stay there at the bead table while i did my shopping. he wouldn't have run off if anyone's thinking that, he's mildly autistic and nothing short of an earthquake would have made him leave that bead table, he loved it, it made shopping fun for him lol! besides which the woman would always be with him, if she was due to take her break she'd let me know so that i didn't leave him there if she was going anywhere. the rest of the bank staff were lovely but i didn't know them well enough for them to take responsibility for looking after my child..52% tight0 -
not smoking going okish, except i swore at the kids at tea time. cheated and had 2 last night, but that was englands fault for being so crap at football, and cos my eldest hates me cos i said he can't go out friday night to walk around town with his mates.
i love the gag idea too. i try to shop without the kids as much as posible, cos otherwise i end up screaming like a fish wife. ;D0 -

Maybe it works on some children but I suspect they're in the minority.Signature removed for peace of mind0
