I have reciently read the vent about people who put kids in veg part of trollies.
OMG
Have any of you actually sat down a listen to what your saying?? :-/ :-/ :-/
First they are children "not a bactiria you cant clean"? and when was the last time you
A, Put your child complete with dog poo shoes in your car ready to take them shoping?
B, saw them step in poo and ran to the nearest supermarket
C, Placed food that was out of a wrapper straight into your trolly?
Food is wrapped to protect it from its jounry to the shop, and they provide bags for fresh food ( I do apologise to those of you who still carry your veg in your hands and pockets :P)
I am a mum and i read this you all moaned Owwww kid who go in trollies, Kids who push trollies and not forgetting kids who run about not restrained in a straight jacket!!!!!!!!
I have a baby who fits nicely into the seat provided and YES we use it then i have a 3 year old Who does not fit into the seat provided so i have to hold her hand However you can,t stear a trolly with 1 hand so i have to let go of her hand to push which then means she is open to people bashing her with a trolly, her running off to grab the nearest thing she feels she needs! so do i leave my baby to get her (which is not safe) or leave my daughter to run wild???????????
OWWWW lets not forget the new trend of people snatching small children who are not in their mothers hands 24/7
Yes i hate those horrid car things but used to use them as both my children where restrained and safe and i could shop in peace.
BUT when was the last time they where serviced? i havent seen one with the safty straps attached in over a year I have complained so many times yet nothing is ever done?
So please all you people who moan clearly have young children and have the solution to this problem, would you kindly share your recomendations to us who havent figured it out.
(this is not ment to offend anyone who did make coment simply my vent on reading it)

Lol - I've not read that thread before!!
I too, am guilty of putting my child in the food part of a supermarket trolly. Did it for years!
My girls are 10 & 12 now and I'm sure there was no such thing as a double trolly then. There may have been but I cant remember them? Anyway, it wouldn't have mattered 'cos my eldest went in the food part for years. She cant walk far so when shopping by myself thats where she was chucked as she was too big for the seat!!
No alternative I'm afraid! And I'm not sorry for it either 'cos she was safer there ;DSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
can i just hask were you never concerned about her falling out, being banged into, or having her finger trapped poking it out between the bars and then banged by another trolley (as i witnessed this once, can say it wasn't pretty site). i not bothered on the hygiene front so much, they are outside, so hardly hygenic, iys more a health and safety thing.0

Dare I say it?
I do it too (well not recently but when mine was 3ish)
My daughter's a big girl and the seats would cut into her legs and bottom. She didn't walk till late due to surgery and couldn't manage trekking around the supermarket.
She always sat down still and I don't think she ever had dog poo on her shoes. The main point that I agree with is that all food is packaged anyway and the trolleys live outside in the car park so they're not exactly clean.
*prepares for roasting ::)*Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
not going to get one from me, i can see your point. just worries me they may get hurt. mayb i am an overprotective mum.0

I am never concered about her falling out after all the trolly goes upto her armpit so she would have to do some climbing to get out, i never leave them unattended so i would see her.
Besideds she can take the safety clip off herself in the seat so would find it a lot easier to get out and fall Or worse unstrap her brother LOL :P :P
With regards to ger fingers she has just as much chance getting them banged bumped in the seat thing after all there is nothing to stop her putting her hands behind herself in the seat and poke her fingers through the holes that ways (maybe thats just my little psyco ;D)
Glad to see im not the only person in the world that does this with there kids and finds it a safer alternative
Im also glad that other people are just not seeing this as a hygene issue I was starting to feel like a minger ::) ::) ::).
