£25 off hotels at Hotelclub.com

  • I booked a hotel through these jokers on Thursday 14th August for a stay on Saturday 16th.

When I got to the hotel on Saturday, a room was booked but payment had not been received from hotel-club. Myself and the hotel manager spent an hour on the phone speaking to various call centre agents, and got no where, they had no one available at the weekend to sort this out , very, very poor customer service and highly embarrassing! They told the hotel they would have to wait until Monday morning, which the hotel was not willing to do as they have had previous problems with the owner of this company ORBITZ.

So far from saving me £25 I had to give my credit card to pay the standard rate of £65, £15 more than I would have had to pay if I’d just booked directly with the hotel on their website!

AVOID HOTEL-CLUB like the plague; if anything goes wrong with you booking at the weekend, they have no one available to help!!!

I suggest that anyone that has booked through hotel-club double checks with the hotel before they travel to make sure that payment has been received!

    hiya,
    new to this stuff,

but looking to stay in leipzig germany week before xmas till after holidays before new year to visit family and wondered if i could book the days in same hotel seperately to use the £25 cred several times?

and what rooms it for as i cant figure that out as its me oh and our 3+1 year old, we wouldnt necesarilly need a cot as we got a ready bed and pop up bubble that are better actually.

any ideas as i ve never booked a hotel before and cant get a package that wont cost a fortune even off peak at random time of year, as its a non holiday location.

This time last year I would have said 100% Quidco, but they have had lots of problems the last 9 months and their cusomer service is/was pretty poor. Topcashback are good and have a better customer service (for me), they solved a problem for me within a few days anyway and were very helpful, I'm not keen on their website layout, but that's just me and I mainly use them for Ebay (good tracking for me). Of late I have mainly used Cashback Kings and have had no problems so far (fingers crossed). So really it's trial and error to see what you prefer.
Unfortunately, no one site guarantees to pay what is advertised, so something to remember.
This is only my view and others will no doubt differ and offer different 100% cashback sites. One thing you need to do is clear cookies and I use CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/ . I also only now use Firefox for my major purchases and all has been ok.
So good luck, join a few and "test the water", sometimes one site may have an "exclusive", so it pays to be a member of several sites.

Edit: Just to say TCB don't charge a yearly fee. The others I have mentioned do.

They don't always have a good selection of hotels, so always check by using a comparison website such as Hotelscomparison or Travelsupermarket, you might find a better hotel at a good price.

Totally agree richardw. Some massive price differences.
I looked at the Algarve for Jan. at my chosen hotel and the price difference was just silly - they seemed more like "rack" rates. Booked elsewhere.
Probably worth using just for the one night if something cheap/decent can be found - or 10 x one nights for those with lots of email addresses. :rotfl:

i was more thinking mine and other halfs emails, as i wont sent up emails just to get the discount.

just bloody hard to find a decent price as i gotta book it all seperately, and leipzing has more historical value then berlin or hamburg, cologne etc. and its much nicer.

if anyone has tips for where to find a good price, you are welcome to share that with me. :)

    As mentioned and the one I use;

    http://hotelscomparison.com/

Then find out if a discount code/cashback (hopefully both as with hotelopia) is available.

Travelodge don't seem to be featured in hotel club sadly, as that is where I usually stay.
