How did everyone do with their challenges this week?
I was supposed to close a credit card, but I didn't get round to it.
I went for my solo drink.
I wanted to lose 2lb, I have managed 1lb, so fairly happy (curse that cake!)
Hi all, eeerrr not very good so far....
1) close a credit card - havent done it yet
2) solo drink which i was due to do Friday but had to postpone due to friends - next week hopefully
3) put some stuff on ebay - i listed some books on amazon so i'm hoping that counts
ps - same here Buffy - printed off the match betting this week to read0 -
Forgot that debt wise I have been doing piggy clicks and using quidco this week, so I have got a little to go towards debts, not much but better than nothing, and I have done quite well with quidco this year, nearly £350, would like to get to £500 by Jan. Also avoided spending £90 on shoes this week. I sooooooooo want them though! Oh how I hate being in debt! All I see is lovely things I want/need!Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0

Everything towards clearing debts counts, so well done on ebaying, I know I should do some myself but am just too lazy sometimes! So difficult to find time/motivation to close cc, but I think when it's done things seem clearer, e.g less places to have small debts which can seem insignificant, but unfortunately all add up!Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

I don't think I would be able to resist going back! I spend so much on books, but justify it by telling myself at least they are cheaper than shoes, bags etc.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

I know - just have to keep remembering that it does all add up but ebay can take sooo long to list and then you dont know if it is going sell.0 -

I don't think I would have the patience for ebaying to be honest, I would hate all that constantly checking the bids, and having to queue at the post office all the time to post things. Wish I was as lazy at buying things!
Feels like a never ending story at the moment, so easy to buy things and takes so long to pay everything off! It's like dieting, so easy to put the weight on, and takes forever to get rid of it.:mad:Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

Those self help books! If I could do even a tenth of what they tell you to do I would be happy! I read them and they seem so easy at the time but putting it into practice is the hard part! Especially the shyness ones- I know I need to do something, and I've got much better as I've got older, but it's so difficult sometimes. Also have the how to meet a man... keep a man... lose weight... be more confident... save money... be happy ones. I need to stop reading how to and start practicing!Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hi
Typing this again as my post seems not to have posted.......
Ayway, just want to join this thread and say how good it is. I've given myself a headache after sitting reading all 36 pages this afternoon  (luckily I'm a quick reader!)
Let me introduce myself -female, single, 27, living in London, and in a lot of debt. I'm keeping my head above water. Waiting for a massive pay rise, which I should have gotten this month, but due to the credit crunch is being deferred until the end of the year      .
Whilst I have lovely friends who are fantastic, they do not know how bad the situation is, and though I know that my closest ones wouldn't judge me, I just don't want to tell them the details. The reasons for my debt are 1) buying my teeny tiny flat, and 2) complete overspending. I'm working on the second reason, but wouldn't change the first- I had too many bad house-share experiences, moving every 6 months etc.
I am happy enough being single, but do get the times where I wish I had someone to love and share things with. I'm really a softie underneath my 'single, career girl, living the London lifestyle' exterior.
Conratulations:T to everyone who tried going out by themselves. I do it on a regular basis, and is sometimes preferable to having another person with you. If I'm eating/drinking etc I always have a book with me, but love people watching so usually end up looking about me.
I have looked at the plentyoffish website, but for London it seems to be full of weirdos. My friend who is still back at home, has had a lot of success with it. Lots of dates, and is now in the second relationship from meeting people on the website.
I'm glad I'm not the only single gal out there. I'm going to a wedding at the end of the year where I'll be one of only 6 single people.
Hope everone had a good weekend. xx0
