Single and in debt.

I certainly don't prefer being single, but I have just got used to it I suppose. I would like to meet someone but I can see from other people's stories that is not always the best option. It just gets lonely at times, also feel that by 36 I should be more settled than this. When all your friends are in couples and you are struggling with debt it is hard to meet people.
Snap, apart from the age. I would like to meet someone but I'm not going to stress about the fact I'm single. Like I said before I'd like to be with someone but the RIGHT someone not just someone for the sake of not being single. and I rarely meet unattached folk of my own age.Mortgage OP 2025 £6750/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

me to im single 44 struggling for years with debt but next year is the pay off of the biggie £25 grand i too live with my mother whos disabled so moving isnt much of an option for me as she needs a lot of help which im glad to do because shes been a gem to me in troubled times also shes now going to put me on the deeds to the house which she wanted to do earlier but i stopped her until the debt was paid so if the worst happened she wouldnt have been involved and nothing of hers could have been touched. I know it feels like a hamster wheel sometimes but im getting there slowly who knows i just might learn something at last0

Exactly what I think as well. I just don't know what to do / where to go to meet the men that are genuinely nice, funny, confident and intelligent (maybe it doesn't exist)

I work with 100 or so blokes, most of them married - completely off limits & I'm not sure going out with someone you work with can have its disadvantages.
Did try internet dating a couple of times..the first bloke told me all there was to know about the petrol consumtion of his Golf GTI - yawn, yawn... And the second, advertised himself as 5ft 9" - not that I'm heightist or anything, but he couldn't do dates in December as he was busy with Snow White & the other 6 dwarves......
Gave it up as a bad job after that. It got to the point where sorting out a babysitter and arranging to go out was more hassle than it was worth! Just spend my time stalking men in Tesco's who have a "meal for one" and a bottle of plonk in their shopping basket!!!!LHS No 2220
