  • Hi Skint,

I hope you all have a great day tomorrow. I so wish I was settled down with a husband and kids, this time of year is definitely for that sort of stuff. I seem to have screwed up in that department quite well though!

I'm 32 in 18 days and not interested in nightclubs now but I have developed quite a taste for red wine!!!

Well at least you won't have to do another shop for a while:D

The tv is really poor today, try iplayer, there is lots of good stuff on there and you can pause it to refill your glass/plate without missing anything.

If only Sarah, all I had that was related to food in that trolley was a cheese and tomato pizza and a bag of apples! I bought a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, a bottle of Jack Daniels, a bottle of mulled wine (hic!), a bottle of red wine, and a little thing for my dad - a bottle of port and a small pot of stilton cheese (the pot is keep-able!!!) :D

I might try to find the last Ugly Betty, didn't get to see that as I was moving at the time.

  • OK well here's my list as well... can you tell that I'm the sort who usually has 100 things on there?
    1. Chill. Don’t take on too much.
    2. ‘Don’t give to takers, give to givers’. Love and energy is too precious to waste on those who don’t appreciate it.
    3. What I can do is enough. Better to do something than worry about how much needs doing and end up doing nothing.
    4. Graduate from part-time degree in September.
    5. Reduce debt. Pay off overdraft and one credit card, more if possible.
    6. Improve my driving. (Does not necessarily mean passing RoSPA test as if that really stresses me I’ll drop it, just improve overall.)
    7. FlyLady stuff – keep getting more organised.
    8. Write a letter to a friend or relative every month. (I never do this any more but it is so lovely to get a letter or card for no reason, so thought I’d start.)
    9. Be more sociable.
    10. Meditate.
Am not adding in any more specific things as the degree and job will keep me quite busy enough.

Of course I am also hoping to find my ideal man, but figured being happy and relaxed is the best place to start.

I used to love going out on christmas eve pink, but now have need to get up in the morning and do santa stuff on xmas eve...

Yep, that's how my christmas eve is panning out too  .

Grrrr also forgot mulled wine, I hate to miss an alcoholic opportunity  . We have loads of food in but for some bizarre reason I keep wanting to dive into the bag of salad in the fridge  . I've also just realised that i havent tried on the skirt I plan to wear tomorrow so have no idea whether it actually fits or not  & now I'm too scared ( & full of nuts :o ) to try it on .

  • Rosa, hope the car is sorted by the end of the year so you don't have to worry about in in 2009, how rude to tell you that you are fortunate:confused:

The list (well mine, anyway) is a work in progress, I just add bits as and when, I think relaxing is a good one, could definitely do with a bit more of that.

  • I saw someone's sig on here which says, "never treat anyone who sees you as an option as a priority," I think that's definitely one I will add.

  • Aw, Run Fat Boy Run was ACE!! (Glad my pals have Sky Movies - from the sound of it, normal telly's a bit rubbish tonight)

Here's the top 10 of my list:

    Be debt free
Don't eat chocolate till debt free
    Save £6,000
Go out with friends at least once a month
Go to theatre at least once a quarter
Read equal number of novels and factual books
    Get over "date fear"
Go to gym 5 times a week for 45 mins
    Do charity cycle ride
Be able to run for 10 mins (previous best is 7 - I hate running!)
£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months
    Finally debt free!
  • RosaBernica, what does FlyLady saved me from Franny mean?

FlyLady is a 'home organisation' system, see www.flylady.net . It's v American and supremely cheesy but it really does work, I am not naturally organised and will take any help I can get (especially when mad enough to try doing too much eg. full time job and two degrees). 'Franny' is their name for super-stressed, disorganised nemesis! I haven't yet told work that some of their project management is now adapted from a housework system :D but will happily discuss my lovely feather duster and car boogies with anybody til they glaze over :rotfl:
