I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.0 -
I love the 100 things list - such a great idea, I normally have a short list but with really really hard things to do - like lose lots of weight, pay off all my debts, ..... would be really good to have achievable things as well! Normally it is really depressing when I read it back
Susu - forgot to mention how impressed I am with your sig - you have cleared so much in such a short space of time - congrats on your dedication and success!:beer:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
SuSu: thanks for the advice. I really want to move on but I dont want anyone else. All i think about is laura. I'm incapable of listening to my own advice and doing the right thing!
Aww TDQO, we all know what it's like when you're pining for someone, all the advice in the world doesn't make it any easier. However, I have to agree with SuSu on your ex, sounds like she just likes to have that power over you and imagine if she was with you and saying those things to him. Not a healthy relationship for anyone. You have had a lucky escape, it just doesn't feel like it now, but it will.
Re the 100 things, also agree with SuSu, they don't all have to be life changing events, can just be places to visit, books to read, joining a gym etc, as you are in Australia there must be a few things you can do/see that can't be done anywhere else, may as well experience them while you can. And definitely see if there are any ex-pats nearby, that sounds like a fab idea.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
TDQO - sorry, posted that message while I was still in September. I'm in October now and you've moved. Newcastle looks really nice though (although the local yokels do sound a bit odd!)
makeup - thank you! It's been a challenge, but I can honestly say I've had more fun clearing my debt than I did getting it! It's so much more satisfying seeing the total come down than go up, and it won't be long till it's all gone :j£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Exactly! I always used to do the usual list and then fail terribly by week 2. At least this way I know I will get some of them done and who says resolutions can't be easy and fun? Knowing I've got some done spurs me on to do the others. Would love to have a list one year that doesn't include lose weight and clear debts though:rolleyes:Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
I am not going to try and lose weight this year.
my theory - I always try and fail, putting on more weight each year, so I figure if I don't try to lose I won't be disappointed!
and I have nothing like that on my list.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
I also had another pound-saving idea - that's lbs not £s... In January, I want to give up chocolate until I'm completely debt free (which will be May or June). Now, this is a BIG undertaking, but I absolutely need to do it. I've always been about size 14-16 but this is the first time I've felt ashamed of my body and I want to change. Anyone want to join me? I could do with the support...
I gave up chocolate for 2 and a half years. The addiction was getting so bad I knew I had to do something about it so gave it up for New Year 3 years ago. I had intended it to be only for a month but I didn't find it difficult at all and kept at it until June this year.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Hmm, I might call it "fit into my clothes" instead. Am sick of putting "lose weight" and failing, at least that way I have a target not determined by pounds, but I do need to lose a bit. This is the time of year I always think ooh I can just go for half to one pound a week next year, I won't even notice I'm dieting! Has never worked yet:rolleyes:Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

TDQO - I'm sure this isn't the response you were looking for, but I've just read your blog and it made me laugh out loud SO many times! You're hilarious when you're p!ssed off (which is nearly all the time LOL!!) It's a shame you can't make money from publishing your blog cos you'd definitely be able to afford your motorbike then!!
Hey, when will you know about the job offer from X??£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Brilliant you!!! I hope I find it as easy. Thing is, I've managed to give up drink (8 years) and ciggies (okay, only a month) easily enough and my chocolate habit's as bad for me as they were... I need to think of chocolate less as a treat and more of a bad fat-making tool of the devil :rotfl:£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months
