I am no expert but if you have enough lnb's and cable then yes. The sky dish doesn't even need to be reposition for freesat all you need is the lnb two if you have the freesat pvr, 3 if you want sky. Youc an use the freesat box to get other channels not on sky or freesat too

I got my freesat Humax pvr finally on order to come later in the week
Is it possible to have a FreeSat box in a bedroom with sky+ in the living room both running from the same dish? Sorry if this should be a new thread

Where have you ordered from savemoney?
General rule for LNBs on Sky dishes - Normal Sky box uses 1 output from an LNB, and Sky+ uses 2 (as in watch one/record one). If you had 'normal' Sky installed you'll have a 1 output LNB, if it was Sky+ you got, it'll be 4 (so you'll have 2 spare). If your dish is in a handy enough place, you may even be able to see 1 or 2 wires coming out, and space for others, or else just the one.

I ordered a quad lnb/cable and f connectors on ebay for just under £20

My freesat box should come today but with the snow it may be another day

Apparently with freesat depending on the transponders you can record two and watch a 3rd I cant confirm this but this also same on freeview but its different technology/plateform

I bought the Humax pvr that can record freesat its twin tuners and 320gb hard drive
  • i actually had sky multi room with my old sky box in my bedroom, so if I'm already cabled up can i just switch that box for a FreeSat box?

Yes you can use the sky dish to get freesat no positioning is needed just a different box, or duual/quad lnb/cable if you have more than one box or a dual tuner

What we're thinking of doing, is getting the Sky Pay Once package (Argos so we get £5 voucher) then ion a few months time, dump Sky & get Freesat, 'cos we'll have a new dish, courtesy of Sky, fro £70ish!!
